the running boom in the USA and the 70s

1972 Olympic marathon champion Frank Shorter.

We review super long runs with the comrades ultra marathon this past weekend

and super fast runs from Mojo. Mo leads the world over 5K

Joe does the double A in a week. Oh! And Anthony Whiteman inspires Tom by running a sub four minute mile on the track,

age 40.

Tom, what have you been doing this week?

Well, I've been doing loads of stuff in fact I have been speaking to

Frank Shorter that was a little while ago but I thought I mentioned it again I mean you know

part of what we do on the show is we try and give people a profile in a community that they might not already have had a profile.

So of course, Frank Shorter is an absolute legend of running.

But I would imagine that a lot of our listeners who may be new to running, maybe they're not really serious club

run or something like that, they might not have heard of Frank Shorter or know much about him.

I certainly didn't know a huge deal about Frank Shorter and it was amazing to speak to it was one of those people

were actually who could have spoken for eight nine or ten hours I think and

still had loads of interesting stuff to talk about he was of course the Olympic

champion in 72 and the Olympic silver medalist in
