Summary

In this episode, Natalie delves deeper into this season's topic of 'closing the gap' by explaining roles, including why we adopt them, how they play out within families, and in turn how they keep us small and hold us back in adulthood. Roles affect all of our interpersonal relationships and block us from being more of who we really are, so becoming more aware of where we play a role is critical to our well-being as well as the health of our relationships.

I'm your host Natalie Lou and today I want to help you be more of who you really are.

Hi there, welcome to another episode of the show.

0:21.0

I have been 40 for a whole week. So if you listen to last

0:27.0

week's episode, episode 89 I talked about turning 40 and at the time nobody knew where I was going on my trip, including

0:35.3

myself and the surprise destination was Paris. And I had an absolute blast. The only thing is that we went on this brilliant cycling tour for a few

0:48.0

hours on the Saturday and I did cycle a little bit too quickly over some cobbles on the last bit of the tour.

And oh my goodness, I had some pain in my back over sort of the next few days so that's been

1:06.5

easing off but hell do you know what I had a blast and it was totally worth it I will

1:10.9

actually put a link to the place where we did this electric bike cycling tour

1:14.6

I think it's called like Secrets and Charms of Paris or something like that but it was

1:18.8

absolutely brilliant and I highly recommended for anybody who is going to be visiting Paris soon.

1:24.8

1:39.8

gap and that gap that I'm referring to is the gap between you know who we say we are what

1:47.5

we say we want and what we actually do. The smaller the gap is, the happier we are, so if so facto, if we are unhappy and coming up against variations of the same situation and problems, often with same people in

2:09.5

different packages, we need to become aware of what is creating that gap.

2:17.0

Closing the gap means becoming and basically living more of who we really are.

2:25.6

You know, being conscious, aware, and present,

2:28.3

as opposed to living in the past

2:31.4

and doing things that are not really reflective of who we are in the main,

2:36.0

you know, doing things that we have been really doing out of habit more so than anything else.

2:44.0

And so in this episode I want to talk specifically about what, you know, becoming more of who you really are actually means because when people say what the
