Hello and welcome to this episode of ESG Fitness Podcast. I've got Haley with me. Haley, how are you?

0:08.5

I'm really well. How are you? I'm good. You were just telling me that you've started an emotional

0:14.0

intelligence course. Yeah, I have because I'm, turns out, I'm not very good at being able to describe the emotion that I'm feeling.

0:24.2

And I'll say things like, it's interesting or this is funny and I don't mean that.

0:32.2

Actually, what I mean is I'm upset by this or this disappointed me.

0:37.1

And so I think to be a better coach, I need to be

0:40.8

able to find a language for my own emotions. And I think that will then help me find or find

0:48.1

the right questions to deliver better coaching. So that is the premise of why I'm doing it.

0:54.1

Yeah. So much of what we do

0:56.5

and our actions are so based on our emotions, but also I think a lack of understanding of how

1:25.6

it's what you unpack a lot in either journaling or therapy or talking to people about it. But I was booking flights back to Scotland to see my family, which is such a nice thing to do. But I was quite sad about it. And I was like, I feel weird about going back. But I did just, when you were just talking about how you describe things, like, oh that's interesting or you know I'm like sad isn't really it's not that I'm actually sad but there is

1:49.0

something that I'm feeling that it's close to the feeling of sad that I can't really describe and I

1:55.2

don't know why that is because there's nothing sad about it like you know but I think most people

2:00.1

just stop there and they're like, I have no idea why

2:01.9

I'll just either avoid it and not go because I have negative connotations with it or never

2:07.5

actually figure out what that is.

2:10.0

You're absolutely right.

2:10.8

People then put a comforting behaviour on top of it, whether it be food, whether it be
