Hello and welcome to this episode of the ESG Fitness Podcast, where I'm going to discuss with you

0:06.2

what I have said is a controversial opinion, but I actually don't think it's controversial.

0:11.0

I think it's counterintuitive. And that is that sometimes it is easier to barter. And I know that

0:20.5

sounds quite odd, but I want you to stay with me so I can explain this

0:23.9

to you. And hopefully by the end of it, you'll be convinced and you'll see that actually just

0:28.3

putting in a little bit more effort is likely the way that you're going to get the results that you want.

0:34.4

So as much as this sounds kind of odd to say that it's easier to work harder,

0:39.7

most people are in the most exhausting place possible because they are trying hard enough for it

0:46.5

to feel like it's draining, but not trying quite hard enough to actually see results. And you see

0:53.5

1:10.0

there. So you'll never actually getting closer to it. And then you just feel shit about yourself and you promise yourself every Monday, things are going to be different. And then they're not. And then what happens is you start breaking trust with yourself, which is a huge problem. And then you feel like you're the kind of person who just never follows through and what they say they're going to do.

1:27.6

And the most important person to have trust with is yourself.

1:30.7

If I say I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it.

1:33.7

If I say to myself that I am going to do a workout tomorrow or I am going to make sure that this podcast gets out by Monday, like it is going to happen.

1:46.4

So anyway, I see a lot of people stuck in this situation where they are trying quite hard, but not quite enough because they

1:52.4

haven't fully committed. And they're giving half an effort, or like half their full effort.

1:58.5

And then they're getting frustrated because it's not working.

2:01.6

And the reality is half effort rarely gets half results. This is something I've realized,

2:06.9

more so in business, but like, it's kind of universally true. When you put in half the effort,
