| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to this episode of the ESG Fitness Podcast. I'm going to talk about my favourite |
| 0:06.1 | and probably most important topic today, which is maintenance, not just losing weight, |
| 0:11.7 | but also maintaining that. Most people think that they have a fat loss problem, but usually |
| 0:17.4 | they don't. Almost everyone, I was going to say everyone, I think I could quite |
| 0:21.7 | confidently say everyone that I have ever worked with who comes to me with the fat loss goal, |
| 0:26.9 | has lost fat before. The issue that they have is then maintaining that. And there are numerous |
| 0:32.9 | reasons why they'd struggle to maintain it. But part of it is that there isn't really enough of an |
| 0:39.9 | appreciation that successful fat loss isn't really that hard. Successful fat loss maintenance |
| 0:46.3 | is. And this is what I spend my life helping people achieve. I don't want working with me |

| 1:11.0 | massively suppress appetite. But people still struggle with maintenance because maintaining your |
| 1:17.6 | results is the most important but underrated part and it's the part that not a lot of people |
| 1:22.3 | think about when they're starting a fat loss journey. And there is no way around the fact that no matter how you |
| 1:28.9 | get there, you will have to work to maintain it. And if you also care about aging well and your health, |
| 1:36.1 | then exercise has to be in there consistently too. And there is no end point to these habits, |
| 1:41.9 | which is why they have to be integrated into your life in a way |
| 1:45.0 | that you actually enjoy or you're never going to stick to them. Like you can take your foot off |
| 1:49.2 | the gas now and everything will just stay the same. And like, I'm sorry, but it won't. I'm sorry to be |
| 1:54.3 | the bearer of the bad news, but it definitely won't just happen. Maintenance requires effort |
