oh, she's just going to talk about being adherent again and dropping calories too low and not

being able to stick to them, that's like the first point I want to make, but I'm actually not

really going to talk about this, that specifically today. So, just to kind of caveat this, the most common reason that

people who stick to very low calories are not losing weight is that very

low calories are very hard to stick to. You're not being consistent on them. You end up

overeating which is a completely normal human response to over-restriction. It's not because you lack willpower, it's because you've set yourself up

for failure by dropping calories too low. Now that's out the way because there are a

subset of people and as an example I work with a woman who is sticking to about

1,400 calories and not losing weight. On paper,

she should be losing weight. Now, this, and I know a lot of people will be thinking, it's

definitely an adherence problem. I actually don't think it's an adherence problem, at least

from an awareness point of view, right? And this person knows what they're doing,

isn't you to the gym, like has been doing this a while, knows very well how to track calories.

I'm actually pretty sure she's doing on the right things and we have a very good relationship,

so, you know, she does overeat from time to time and she does tell me and, you know, it's normal

and she goes out for meals

and etc etc right but she should still be losing on 1,400 calories when she's consistent
