Summary
I was listening to an IFCA coaching situation recently where a coach had a client who kept trying to quit.
Not once… twice.
And on the surface, it's easy to label that client as:
Difficult, Non-compliant, Unmotivated, and most would label them a "problem client."
And don't get me wrong. Those clients exist.
But here's the question I always ask:
"Is this actually a client problem… or a leadership problem?"
We'll walk through the answer to this question in today's episode.

| 0:00.0 | Why does this matter? Why should you break it out like this? It sounds so simple and elementary. But when you make it visual and objective like this, you remove emotion from both sides. They're getting emotional. Like I'm trying so hard. Ma, ma, ma, ma, ma. You're getting emotional. Just do what I say. Just put numbers to it, right? Make it visual, make it objective, give them a report card. You remove the |
| 0:21.7 | debating, you remove the guessing, and you replace it with ownership. Hi, guys, welcome back to the |
| 0:28.3 | podcast. So I'm going to talk to you a little bit about how we term problem clients and easy |
| 0:34.7 | clients and how you are oftentimes the constraint of that. |
| 0:38.1 | Your leadership is the constraint of that. And I'm going to give you some really good leader |
| 0:42.0 | frames that help you because it sucks when clients are draining your energy. And maybe they're |
| 0:47.8 | getting results. Maybe they're not getting results. But it has some really great leadership |
| 0:51.2 | frameworks to make your life a lot easier. So there's a level in |
| 0:55.0 | business where the problem is no longer your strategy, no longer your leads, no longer your |
| 0:59.8 | ads, no longer your offer. The problem is you. And I know that sounds harsh, but I say that because |
| 1:04.8 | every single one of us hits that point in business where the business stops growing and not |
| 1:10.1 | because we need more information, but because we need to lead better, get better, learn more, right? So in this |
| 1:17.2 | episode, I'm going to walk you through how to identify when you are the constraint, why your |
| 1:22.9 | clients and your team might not be getting results is often a leadership issue, a you issue. Just if you accept that right now, everything in my business is my fault. Your life gets infinitely easier because then you have control over it, right? And then you're looking at the right thing. And then lastly, I'm going to walk you through a really simple framework on how to fix that, like I already mentioned. So if you're listening to this and you know you're at that level where you don't need more information, you need better execution. That's what we do here at |
| 1:49.4 | IFCA. We'd love to help you. You can DM us on Instagram. You can DM us ready. And we will figure out |
| 1:53.9 | your next move for you and see if we can help you or not. So anyway, I was listening to a coaching |
| 1:59.7 | call recently where a coach had a client who just kept |
| 2:02.4 | trying to quit, not once, twice, several times. And on the surface, when that happens, |
| 2:07.6 | it's easy for us to be like, oh, that's a difficult compliant. That client sucks or they're, |
| 2:12.5 | you know, they're not listening, they're unmotivated, just a problem client, right? And kind of |
| 2:17.1 | place the blame on |
| 2:17.7 | them. And don't get me wrong, those clients do exist. But here's the question I always ask. |
