So if you're waiting for the perfect season to live your life and build a business, you're going to miss both.

What's up, guys? Welcome back to the podcast. So funny enough, we have several, like an ironic amount of students out of our program who are pregnant right now.

And as a business owner, when you are having a baby, you know, you don't just get paid maternity leave. And so I've had to

navigate this with so many clients. I've obviously been through it twice. And so I want to talk about it

because it's something that I end up talking about over and over and over on open office hour calls.

And so let's talk about how to navigate like maternity leave or any big life event like this as a business owner. And so first off, just realizing, realizing that there's never a perfect time for anything when you own a business, right? There's never a perfect time to have a baby. There's never a perfect time to take a vacation. There's never a perfect time to need time off for random X, Y, Z reason. just like everything else. Just like there's never

perfect time to hire. There's never a perfect time to launch. There's never a perfect time to rest.

You know, like you just have to, the show just goes on. You just keep doing it. So if you're waiting

for a moment when it's like, oh, okay, everything feels great. Life and business are perfectly

aligning. You're going to wait forever.

I've felt that in 13 years of entrepreneurship. So today I want to talk about what do we do?

What do we do when like a big of life thing and business thing are colliding? Because in business,

we try so hard to control everything. And boy, do we not have control. The answer is not control. The answer is

better leadership. So we'll talk about what that looks like. So if you are in a season where

something big is happening in your life and you're worried about what it's going to do to your

business, this is the episode for you. So like I said, just and I've been, I've talked about this several times and I just had a call recently where I was talking about it with a student. She was having, she is having her baby in less than a week when we chatted and she was setting up everything before maternity leave, but she said something that was so honest. She was like, you know, I'm scared that while I'm gone, my setter, my clothes are aren't going to perform.

They're not going to hit KPIs.

They're not going to get paid well. They're going to quit. And, you know, she's just kind of like future casting all these problems that could happen. She's like, I'll come back from maternity leave. I'll have to rebuild my whole team and everything. and I told her, well, you know, it's not the best case scenario to have a baby right now, right?

But when is the perfect scenario to have a baby right now, right?

But when is the perfect time to have a baby? When you're a business owner, there just really isn't one. And that's the truth. And I think coming to terms with that is helpful in a lot of ways. There's always going to be something going on in business. There's always going to be a launch. There's always going to be a metric that you need to improve, there's always going to be, man, I just hired this person. What do I do?

If you're lucky enough to be in that stage of business, right? If you're a solopreneur, we can talk through this and it looks a little bit different. So the question is, how do I, what do I do? How do I like mitigate the bad timing? And I'm sorry, the question is not,
