Hello and welcome to this episode of the ESG Fitness Podcast. Today I want to talk about one of the most

common reasons that women don't get results when they're trying to lose fat. And this is often that

they get stuck in this cycle of thinking that they need to over restrict. And often that's because that's all they've ever

known. And this has created an expectation that with fat loss, you're going to see weight loss

the first week or you're going to essentially to some extent have these realistic, sorry, unrealistic

expectations of the results you can see in a short period of

time. Now, if you expect to see results in a week, then the likelihood is you won't on a very

sensible calorie deficit that you could actually stick to a long time, long time, long term,

and get long term results. you're probably not going to

see drastic shifts in weight in a week, especially not if you're a relatively small human being,

right? But what you might have experienced previously is when you did something very over-restrictive,

then you did see results relatively quickly, but it was not maintainable, right?

So actually, it doesn't work long term, so probably not a great approach.

But then you expect to see these big changes in a week.

And when you don't, you think, well, it doesn't work. I'm just the kind

of person who has to over-restrict to get results. And I'm here to tell you, my friend, that is not the

case. The problem isn't that you need to massively over-restrict to lose fat. The problem is your

expectation of how quickly you're going to see results.

And if you don't change that and accept that if you want to make long-term changes and if you want to

lose fat for good, you're going to have to accept that it might take more than a week to start seeing

results and you won't see things immediately and you have to put in the effort first and it might

take a little bit longer than you thought but when you zoom out it doesn't take longer right because
