I watched an episode of friends last night, the one where Rachel and Russ take a break.

She is super busy at her job. If you're a big fan of friends then you'll recall that she'd finally gotten into sort of her dream job in fashion

And Ross isn't spending that much time with her and so he turns up at work on their anniversary with this picnic and he tries to, I don't know, do this big

romantic gesture of work, but he's just not listening to her about how she is busy.

He even tries to light light a candle and sort of flames go up on the desk and eventually she basically

throws him out of the office. And when she gets home he is waiting for her and he basically doesn't apologize for sort of what happened in the office because from his standpoint he sees it as he was being a romantic boyfriend who misses his girlfriend dearly and who was trying to make the best of a bad situation by sort of bringing in the anniversary to her.

Whereas obviously she saw it as he was being invasive and you know not really sort of

respect in her professional boundaries and really just not listening to her and so

he didn't apologize and so it's she's instantly annoyed with him and they get into an argument which comes down to her saying

you know maybe we should take a break I'm not obviously saying it's for

basim here, but you get the gist and so she says maybe we should take a break and he

goes, yeah you're right. I'll go out and get us some frozen yogurt or something and

she knows and she goes, no, I mean from us.

And he walks, he walks out then and slams the door.

And it's really got me thinking about when people go and take breaks because if you have watched friends then you know

that the famous line from the show is about how Ross keeps saying we were on a break

and it relates to the fact that on the night her, Ross, keeps saying, we were on a break.
