Hello and welcome to this episode of the ESG Fitness Podcast.

0:04.5

In this episode, I'm going to discuss this very common cycle where you seem to do really well for a period of time and then you self-sabotage or you start to see results and then weirdly you kind of choose to go off track kind of because you're seeing results

0:22.6

which seems totally counterintuitive like oh something's working so I'll do the exact opposite

0:29.5

but this is actually quite common and is shown by the amount of people that resonated with

0:35.8

one of the posts on the commit to six group about

0:38.5

kind of exactly this. So I wanted to cover it on a podcast to do it full justice rather than just

0:46.0

comment on that threat. So what I do want to start by saying, because I'm not joking, I think

what you're talking about and cannot understand why on earth that would ever happen.

1:24.5

Although it seems like a strange thing to do, it's actually quite normal and I think that's obviously why

1:29.5

so many people are like yeah me too or this happens to me so there are a few angles that I want to take

1:35.6

to look at this and that some of this kind of incorporates slightly different concepts and the only way

1:43.1

that you will be able to tell which is true for you

1:46.5

and what's a useful way of framing it for you or even like what the solution is for you is for you to

1:53.7

kind of introspect while I'm talking through this. So the first one is probably the most obvious.

1:59.0

Like sometimes it's just boredom. And I know that

2:02.9

seems like a really lazy answer, but it's often that you're bored or you're impatient and you want

2:09.1

results and you want them now. So the reason that you self-sabotage or the reason that you go off
