Why do we take Facebook so seriously?

If I were to go solely by what I see in my news feed,

I would be convinced that people's lives are exactly as they presented, so fabulous

that they have the time to be on Facebook all day. Despite many of us being aware that not

everything we see and read on the internet is real and accurate,

Facebook and our perception of other people's lives and how we see us relative to others is a real source of distress.

I've been on Facebook for over eight years and I signed up while I was heavily

pregnant with my daughter and everyone was signing up at work because it was the new craze.

Suddenly I was able to get a window into the lives of people who I was working with,

you know what was going on behind the scenes, as well as being able to connect with my old

pals back home in Dublin to even being able to take a peek into what my exes were getting up to.

I have seen breakups, I've seen marriages, I've seen divorces, I've seen divor seen marriages I've seen divorces I've seen babies bereavement

Triumph being shared and I've also had more Farmville and Candy Crush requests than I can shake a stick at. But what I've noticed most of all over my time on Facebook are the alarming ways in which Facebook usage has not only messed with our psyche, but even the ways that we engage with people.

We have a whole new set of worries that, you know, eight or so years ago just a

a sample of some of the things that I'm coming across. I think right at the top of the list is the stress
