Summary

#302: Do you find yourself constantly trying to please others, even to your own detriment?

In this episode, I’m joined by Paige Pritchard, a finance coach on a mission to educate ambitious women who are ready to leave their financial self-sabotage in the dust. We dive deep into the concept of emotional outsourcing - when we look outside ourselves for safety, belonging, and worth - and discuss how this shows up in overspending, people-pleasing, and living inauthentic lives.

1:12.3

murder of the indigenous peoples of Turtle Island. And so I just want to take a little moment,

1:16.9

hand to heart, to acknowledge all the pain and misery that came from this colonization, to send a little

1:26.4

love to all the indigenous peoples of Turtle Island.

And to acknowledge that I too, you know, I came to the U.S. when I was like four or five.

1:34.8

I too am a settler on this land, an immigrant settler. It's important to name what's real, right?

1:40.8

It's one of the things that doesn't happen in emotional outsourcing. We don't name how we

1:45.0

really think, feel what we want, what we need. There's so much fear of being judged, being criticized,

1:51.3

of someone not liking it. And that's totally understandable when you're sourcing your safety worth

1:57.0

and belonging from outside yourself, right? Like, that makes sense. So we're honoring all that's

2:03.1

real, and we are deciding what's next. We're living into intentionality, right? That's our whole

2:08.5

goal here on feminist wellness, regulation, choicefulness, intentionality. One of the places that so many

2:14.8

of us are not intentional and choice was in our spending.
