It's good to be back after a couple of weeks break.

So what am I getting into today? I want to talk about when people press the reset button.

So this is where somebody behaves in a way

that it's like they think they have the ability to reset the relationship

to a time that feels most convenient for them.

So typically, this time that they want to go back to

erase is a part of the past that we could do with remembering. It's when somebody wants to erase what's

happened, you know not deal with it and you know we're supposed to forget about

it and move on.

And it's also where they act like there hasn't been an issue

and I just want to sort of pick up where they left off.

And wherever they left off is where it's most convenient for them, not where it's mutually good for the both of you.

So there were a few common scenarios that I want to illustrate this with.

The first is where someone we are close to that we you know

believe we have a good relationship with vanishes from our life without so much as a bind or leave and then they pop up

maybe weeks months or even years later acting like nothing has happened acting like

there's nothing strange about it whatsoever.

And I want to pick up where they left off.

And in that situation, sometimes because we're just so relieved to see them, it's like this validation that they're back, we go along with it.
