Today I want to talk about something that most of us have been through or we certainly know other people who have.

And that is breakups. Now before you're like oh I don't think this applies to me

because I'm much happier now I'm over my past relationships I'm in a much

better relationship now.

Holt. Part of the reason why I wanted to do this episode is because I think there

are a lot of misconceptions about what a breakup is and why they happen.

And the thing is, how we think and feel about ourselves as a result of a breakup

and the stories we tell ourselves about why that breakup happened, what that breakup was about, what it meant about us impacts our sense of self.

It affects our self-esteem, it affects the choices that we make in

subsequent relationships, it affects the level of anger and hurts and fear that we are

carrying around as a result of past experiences.

Bear in mind that breakups are a form of loss that also bring in our associations
