Hello and welcome to this episode of Science versus Bullshit, which annoyingly I recorded and the audio

0:07.1

quality was so bad that I'm doing it again. But I think it was a good episode and I hope this will be

0:14.2

even better and the audio would be significantly better and there'll be a lot of take homes for people.

0:19.3

So here we go. Okay, so first of all, I'm back.

0:23.3

And I have a lot to get through. And if you have been sending me stuff, thank you. I have put it

0:29.0

all in a superb file on my laptop somewhere in a big word document. So I will get through

0:35.2

everything. But I decided instead of trying to

0:37.5

rush through everything, I would go and kind of deep dive on a few topics because I think that's

0:42.1

much more beneficial. And then people can search and look back and find what they're interested in.

1:15.0

started in the fitness industry, really all people were getting was like a 10% My Protein kickback or

1:21.9

something, right? People weren't making huge amounts of money from promoting supplements. And you might,

1:26.8

you know, if you were a sponsored athlete

1:28.3

or something, you might get given a couple hundred pounds worth of free supplements a month,

1:33.9

but like you weren't making a big amount of money from this. Now even pretty low level

1:39.5

influencers are making thousands of pounds. Most of them are probably making tens of thousands

1:43.8

of pounds. Like for one real probably making tens of thousands of pounds.

1:45.0

Like, for one reel, people will be paid tens to, you know, I know people that have been paid

1:50.2

40,000 pounds to make one real. And they're not celebrities. They are influencers. And then if you're

1:56.7

kind of a mini celebrity, I also, by the way, these aren't like made up numbers. I know people
