0:21.2 | Hello, hello my friends. How are you guys? How's your summer? How are you doing? |
0:27.2 | Did you guys like the last episode? We rocked it out with all the basic tools. Now we're going to go advanced on you. |
0:33.0 | I've actually spent the past two weeks like really doing some deep thought work, some real uninterrupted, thoughtful, committed work on how to teach this. |
0:48.0 | I am starting on, I think it is Monday going to be teaching these concepts live to a group of about 55 people. |
1:00.6 | And I want to make sure that I can teach it in a way that really resonates with my students and also is quickly applicable. |
1:09.6 | And I think a lot of these concepts because they're advanced are kind of mind-bending. And so it's really important to have the basics established ahead of time. |
1:20.2 | And because I have my own basics and I practice them and I do have some mastery with them, I want to make sure that I'm bridging the gap between my students that may not have quite as much mastery as I do. |

1:57.6 | You know you have the general idea of how to use them, but you aren't good at them because you haven't practiced them. |
2:02.6 | And I think one of the biggest mistakes that my students make is expecting to have the skill of a master just because they've learned the tool. |
2:15.6 | Okay, and this is like an old school lesson that I feel like I have to teach pretty regularly. |
2:21.6 | That in the beginning, you you're going to hit your thumb with that hammer. |
2:26.6 | In the beginning, you're going to be slow and you're going to make lots of mistakes. |
2:31.6 | And if you try and rush through it, you're going to create really sloppy work. |
2:35.6 | And the slower you are and the more deliberate you are in the beginning and the more you practice, the better and more effortless, it will be at the end. |
2:44.6 | If you watch a master contractor working with a hammer, they aren't thinking at all about that hammer. |
2:49.6 | Right? It's just second-rated nature nature with a coach. |
