Today I'm going to be talking about a very new theory that I'm very interested in.

I feel optimistic that this theory of emotions is going to be around for a long time and that it is something

that's worth familiarizing myself with.

There is a classical view of emotions that has been around for a very long time ever since in fact Darwin.

And Darwin first noted that his theory that emotions are a direct

lineage of our evolutionary history

and that in many ways we can share see our shared behavioral

lineage with species that go back to

certainly back to certainly back to the mammalian brain the midbrain that was goes

back millions upon millions of years and that essentially

that of our motions are artifacts of our natural selection that over the course of millennia created or species.

Just like the brain, if you looked at the brain, the brain stem is roughly similar to the brain stem that's in reptiles and the mammalian

brain is the midbrain. The limbic structures are very similar to structures in the mammalian species, you know rats, cats, dogs, etc.

And then you get to the forebrain,

which is found largely in primates. of course have the most massive frontal load.
