why is it that we get sidetracked on the path to finding out who we were meant to be?

Oh, my goodness. That is the whole point of the book is, why do we get contract? Yes.

Well, you know, it's a complex answer, but to put it very succinctly, our culture is increasingly

based on a very toxic masculine principle of acquisition, domination, and severe competition.

While a lot of what we see currently has biological primitive roots of survival,

it's gone to such an extreme point that anyone under the pedestal of that power falls prey to being dominated.

So women, children, animals, the earth.

And men also who are not the powerful men in charge are being stampeded and wiped out for

this toxic masculine goal of acquisition and domination.

So having said that, that's the cultural matrix that we women are raised in.
