Hi, my name is John Kim and I'm a therapist who went through his own

rebirth. I share my feelings and revelations. I believe in casual or

clinical and with you instead of at you I come unrehearsed on

purpose because self-help doesn't have to be so complicated.

First I want to apologize in advance for all the sniffling you're about to hear and my

nadesly voice. I am in upstate New York during the summer and I have really bad allergies are so bad. I literally feel like my face is

melting but I'm not going to let a nasally voice and a little snot prevent me from creating a dialogue.

I am also by the way horizontal and this is the first podcast I have ever done lying down with clothes on.

I've done a podcast lying down without clothes on, but with clothes on this is the first time.

Okay. Let's talk about the death of bad boys and

why that is happening. So let's back up a little bit to last weekend. I was in a cemetery watching the classic 90s

movie, Reality Bites. Now if you live in Los Angeles, you probably done this or if you haven't it's

definitely a one-time thing or a once-in-a-while thing at the Hollywood

Forever Cemetery during the summer they project movies onto the the wall and

thousands of people come and picnic and and there's a DJ and there's music and it's

really fun it reminds me of the drive-ins back in the 50s now. Of course I didn't grow up in the 50s and

fuck you if you think I did no I'm just getting but I caught the I caught the tail end of drive-ins in the mid-80s there were a few of them still

functioning and I remember I think I've gone to like two in my lifetime So I think I was like 10 or 12 and I remember it was just really cool to watch a movie outside and you know either with a drive-in you're in your car

but with a group of people anyway that experience exists in Los Angeles and I do it once in a while

reality bites is a movie about basically Winona writer. Well it's a group of 20-something-year-olds post-college kind of feeling lost and it's about love and

relationships and finding themselves and she has to pick between the bad boy who is, his name was Troy and he's played by Ethan

Hawk and he's the guy that is charismatic and he hides behind his cleverness as well as his bangs and has a you know guitar strapped around his shoulder and he's unpredictable and he's unpredictable and he's, you know, everything that a bad boy is, right?
