As an entrepreneur, one of the most important things that I try to do is always sit in rooms

with people who are smarter than me and make more money than me.

Because the fact of the matter is, if you're the smartest person in the room or the richest

person in the room, you're in the wrong room.

Unless all those people in the room have paid $5,000 to be there to get

mentorship and direction and coaching from you, you need to be in rooms where people have more

skills and more talent and make better business decisions so that you can learn from them. A few months ago,

I got an email inviting me to an event called Podmax. I'd never heard of it, but I knew I was

starting a show and I knew I needed guests. And I knew that the president of the Sasha group, which is a company founded

by Gary V. James Orsini was going to be the keynote speaker. Well, I started thinking about it.

You know, me and Gary V are not that much different. We both sit in front of cameras.

We both make content.

We both help other people understand how to define their brands and how to market themselves

in a way that is authentic and that attracts the right people.

So when I thought, well, maybe I can pick up some amazing advice from James about

what it is like to work with bigger clients, bigger companies. How can I be a part of a

conversation with someone who is so intimately tied to Gary V? Because Gary has been a big influence on my life. His book

Jab Jab Jab, Right Hook, Left Right Hook, whatever the title of it is, has been one of those

books that I have read so many times. And it was a book that I read when I first started my journey on social media. So one of

the things that James taught us is that when you work on projects that you are passionate about,
