And one massive barrier to consistency is this sense of rushing, wanting it to happen

as fast as possible, instead of wanting it to happen no matter what.

And don't get me wrong, I would rather reach my goals faster than slower, but the mature

mind knows that oftentimes speed comes at the expense of sustainability.

I am going to say that again because this is such an important one to wrap our heads

around and to stay mindful of.

Sometimes I think about this when I am driving and I have a temptation to like speed up,

getting the left lane, past some people because I am in a rush.

I especially felt this when I would make my daily drives to and from the NICU in Boston

because I wanted to get there to see the kids and then I wanted to get back to see Roman.

And there were times when somebody would just fly past me reckless.

I saw some wrecks on those many, many, many, many, many days and months I spent on the

road back and forth to Boston.

And I would remind myself of that, like why are we in such a rush when rushing can keep

us from getting there at all?
