0:00.0	Hi, my name is Pete Scuzaro. I want to welcome you today to the emotionally healthy leader podcast.
0:07.0	And today's topic is six marks of a church culture that deeply changes lives, part three.
0:14.0	And the theme is, beneath the surface, discipleship. Now, my goal here in this podcast today in particular is to challenge you personally in your walk with Jesus because every one of us as leaders were first followers of Jesus ourselves listening to his voice and following him.
0:29.6	My second goal is really to offer you a vision through this series on marks of a church culture that deeply changes lives, to give you
0:38.2	a vision of a preferable future to pull you forward, an actual picture of what I believe,
0:45.3	a church, some marks that are needed in the church in a 21st century and are a rapidly changing
0:50.4	world.
0:51.0	And I pray that vision has got beauty to it as our Lord Jesus has beauty,
0:56.4	and that will pull you forward despite the obstacles and the resistance. And then, of course,
1:01.0	another goal is to challenge you in your leadership as you lead your team. But as goes,
1:05.7	the leader, so goes the church. So what I am sharing with you in this little short series of six marks of a church
1:11.9	cult that deeply changes lives is a vision of a culture in the church or your ministry. So the last
1:18.4	two weeks, we've started by talking about the first mark, which is a slow down spirituality,
1:23.0	that slowing down, that is our being with Jesus, out of which we do, life, is critical.
1:30.7	And we want to create a culture where people are developing their own relationship with Jesus,
1:36.6	not living off other people's spirituality, that we're actually moving beyond cultural Christianity
1:41.7	and programs or being religious,
1:44.3	but that folks are actually seeking Jesus.
1:49.3	Psalm 1274, like David wrote,
1:52.0	one thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek,
1:55.0	that I may dwell on the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
1:57.6	to gaze upon his beauty and to seek him in his temple.
