We're going to Boeing, a troubled aircraft company.

The question now is is can it survive? Can it survive

without its space division? What about its space division? Bob has been watching

carefully for years the Space Division as it tries to meet its

contract with NASA to build a manned craft to go to and from ISS and then

the Adventures of Starliner and now, Bob a very good evening to you, this

feels like the Jonah that was on board Starliner has jumped the main

headquarters wherever that is from Boeing these days they keep bouncing around is

Starliner is the space division is that a major part of Boeing or is that just

a bubble they're going to dump all right right, so let's do some review and then talk about what's going on.

First of the last week, Stahl, Boeing was forced to take another $250 million charge on Starliner. In other words, they have a fixed-price contract with NASA.

It's for something like over $4 billion, but they don't get paid money until they achieve milestones.

And so most of that money has not been paid because they can't get an operational launch of

man mission.

So in order to keep going to fly these extra missions to do the additional repairs and

so they keep having to pull, literally pay money out of their own pocket and up until

recently that was about half one and a half billion dollars well they've now

taken a little two hundred fifteen million dollar charge which brings it up to $1.85 billion of Boeing's own

money has been spent so far on Starliner without getting full payment back.
