Summary

Picture this - you and all your buddies are in a basement slash Little Caesar's slash Papa John's slash sacrifice chamber. Sound like a dream come true? Then maybe you should consider a career in Congress! This week our pal Adam Peacock (host of My Neighbors Are Dead), came by to talk about the spookiest month of the year - April! Adam suspects that the US Government takes a few weeks every year to sacrifice a bunch of people - specifically people from one Babylonian family - to ensure their continuing power for the rest of the year. In this episode we address what makes April so special, what VHS videos they might be watching down in that basement, where do the blood go, and why you have to pay a bunch of money in the US just for the privilege of paying your own taxes. Thank goodness it's May!

That's what I get. That's what was such a bummer about the Tim Burton one. I thought was it. The monkeys looked phenomenal, but the movie was just not very good.

0:24.0

I don't think I even know about the Tim Burton one. Did he do like a 90s planet of the...

0:29.2

Alexis, did you see it? Yes. I worked at Blockbuster when it came out, and when we opened the DVDs, they had like a little postcard-sized, like poster basically, explaining the timelines, because it was so convoluted in the movie that you couldn't understand it, so they had to send like a map to show you how it worked.

0:49.4

Oh, so like WB or whoever had to. Yeah, yeah. Funny. People are mad and they want to know what happened. Is Mark Wahlberg in that movie?

1:00.6

It's Mark Wahlberg in Hell in a Bottom Carter. Yeah. Yeah. And Tim Curry, too. No, not Tim Curry. Tim Meadows. No, no, no. Tim, Tim, Tim, you're off. Tim, you're off. I'm going to get going.

1:17.4

Yes. We would have got it eventually. Of the Tim's, that is the one that makes the most sense. Yeah. Yeah, it's a weird movie. It's very strange. Well, Tim Burton's a pretty weird guy. I don't know if he heard. He sees the world in a cookie. Weird way.

1:35.4

Speaking of seeing the world in a weird way, our guest is an absolute delight, a friend of the show.

1:44.4

Been on before you know him. He's the host of the podcast. My neighbors are dead. Adam Peacock is here. Hi. Hi, Adam. How are you? Thanks for having me back. I'm good. I'm very good.

1:55.8

You're in silver. Like you're in a lovely, well lit home. Look like you feel good. I look good. Yeah. Feel good dog sitting. You can't see him. He's around your somewhere. But yeah. It's great.

2:07.4

There's always an energy when someone is when there's a pet in the room that I relish. I love the little guy. He's great. We wish there was a way we could steal him. But yeah, he just puts me. He puts me to ease. Yeah.

2:19.4

You've got you've got dog guy energy right now and I'm loving it.

2:23.4

I love dog guy energy.

2:26.4

And Adam, you're here. You know, your usual thing is horror, right? Like my neighbors are dead as a podcast where people come on and their characters.

2:38.4

You know, ancillary characters. It didn't really exist to witness things from horror movies. Yeah.

2:43.4

But you feel like you are sort of witnessing a real life horror. Would you agree?

2:50.4

Yeah. I mean, yeah. I think a real life horror is kind of a, you can't put too fine a point on it. But yeah, I do. And I think it's seeing it more now sort of 10 days removed from kind of like the main hub of when these things happen.

3:06.4

So do you want to just tell you or should I just, you know, because I hear, look, just I'm not alone in this. I know it's going to seem like I'm alone. But I think a lot of people really subscribe to this.

3:18.4

So we're 10 days out of April, which I believe is the month that the government makes all of their blood sacrifices.

3:26.4

So from the beginning to the end of April, that's when all of that happens sort of setting forth a lot of things in motion for the rest of the year and many years down the line.

3:35.4

They cram it all in 30 days.

3:39.4

Yeah. And that seems to be when it is the most, you know, it's the richest time of the year. The soil is the richest to do these kinds of things.

3:46.4

Okay. So it's fertile, it's springtime, and it's also time for maybe if you could start by just telling us, what do you mean when you say a blood sacrifice?
