We've been off for a couple of weeks

while I've been busy working on other projects, but we are back and better than ever. And I have

a few really fun episodes coming up here in the next couple of weeks that I think you guys are

really going to enjoy,

starting with this one here. We're back to talk about politics. I know, right?

Stick to sports, right? I'm sure this subject matter might be off-putting or generally exhausting

to a lot of you, and I thought about whether I wanted to do

this long and hard. And ultimately, I made the decision to sort of cross this Rubicon because I really

do feel like we're living through a moment in history right now.

And like me, I'm sure a lot of you are trying to make sense of the state of our country.

And I figured it'd be good for me and potentially useful for you as well to have this conversation in public. So today's guest is an old childhood friend of mine. His name is

Alec Garnett. He's a Democratic representative in the state of Colorado and now the Speaker

Elect in the Colorado State House of Representatives after winning his election a week ago

carrying 85% of the vote in his district.

So he's a super smart guy.

He's had a great career in politics so far with a lot of, I think, future potential in

the Democratic Party in the state of Colorado and potentially beyond.

I think you guys will really like him. But one last thing

before we get started on our conversation is I just want to acknowledge that, of course, yes, I did

vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this election, but if you voted the other way, I want you to know

that I acknowledge that your vote is every bit as worthy and every bit as important as mine.
