Now here's where this like turns from checkers into three dimensional chess. Because you started out by

caring about profit, you're not just going to train your cash register concierge to recommend the

chocolate croissant. You're actually going to train them to recommend whatever pastry has,

say it with me, the highest margin.

So not only are you bringing more money in, but you're making more money at the end of the

day.

These are just like simple things that you can do to increase the amount of money that you

are making.

You are going to have to build a system around an upsell.

You are. You are. Again, this is one of those things. You don't want to be every day. You're in the

bakery. You're in the coffee shop. You're in it, in it, in it. If you're serving customers,

you're taking care of people, you're taking out the trash, you're doing it. That's important

work.

But it also means that you can never rise above it enough to figure out how to make it better.
