I love it when my clients are amazing examples of what is possible for adults with ADHD.
My dear client Rich sent me his 2020 evaluation and I HAD to invite him onto the podcast to share it with you all.
Rich discusses his ADHD experience of 2020, the emotions he went through, and how he was able to rewrite his year in a way that serves him. We even get to discussing what he might set as his impossible goal for 2021.

1:06.8 | So one of my coaches said recently that the best predictor of success in 2021 is the story you're telling yourself about 2020. |
1:16.0 | I've been thinking about this so much because I think most of us would say that we are pretty entitled to tell a negative story about |
1:28.4 | 2020. Globally, we've been experiencing so much fear and confusion and political unrest and there's so many people that have lost their lives and been sick and lost their jobs and had to alter their worlds in a way that was like at the very least pretty inconvenient. |
1:48.8 | And so last week in our focus membership we did a20 evaluation. I really encouraged the group to feel all of the |
1:57.0 | feelings about 20 and yes, of course, acknowledge and validate the pain and the struggle, but then really decide how they wanted to think about it on purpose. |
2:09.0 | So on today's podcast, we're going to discuss how we can kind of rewrite our story of 2020 in a way that's true and authentic, but also sets us up as the hero and allows us to step into 2021 with some bad assery. So, Rich, you sent me a |
2:28.8 | slack message of your 2020 eval and I was so struck by the way that you processed your year that I forced you to come on the |
2:37.4 | podcast. So thank you so much for being here. First, before we get started, tell us just a little bit about yourself. |
2:45.8 | Who are you? What do you do? What's your life like? |
2:49.8 | My life is usually a little crazy. I have three kids. I'm married. I'm a designer and animator by day and then |
2:59.5 | All sorts of whatever strikes my fancy by night, you know, ADHD and all. |
3:05.0 | So, yeah, I mean, you know, pretty uh, baseline, you know, middle club American existence. |
3:15.6 | What does a designer and animator do? |
3:18.2 | I've actually been curious about your work. |
3:20.5 | So tell me for like a second, what do you do? Yeah, I mean it's basically graphic design then you make move and so it's it's you know |
3:31.1 | I do television commercials I do |
