Summary
Be guided in a meditation using a breathing technique to slowdown. The breathing technique energizes your body to release pent up, restless energy so you can settle into the stillness of your meditation. This is part 3 of a 7-Part Slow DownMeditation Series, Episodes 695-702. As always, you don't have todo the meditation techniques -- they are simply there to help you transition from your busy day to a state of stillness. The techniques also help to calm "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation.

| 0:57.0 | Every Tuesday I share a breathing technique on the podcast. |
| 1:01.0 | So you'll be guided as you relax your body and start to notice your breath and then go into a guided breathing technique. |
| 1:13.6 | Now this breathing technique is going to kind of energize you a little bit. |
| 1:22.6 | And that might sound a little bit odd if you're doing a slow down meditation. And the reason why I'm |
| 1:32.2 | going to have you do a breathing technique that's a little bit more energizing is because, and I |
| 1:39.3 | think you'll be able to relate to this if you have children especially sometimes in order to really slow down |
| 1:47.4 | it's important to energize yourself just a little bit because when we have pent-up energy and |
| 1:57.2 | we feel a little bit restless sometimes we need to kind of get that energy out |
| 2:03.6 | before we can relax and slow down. |
| 2:09.7 | And people often tell me that one of the most challenging parts of meditation is that |
| 2:15.5 | they get all ready, they sit down and they're nice |
| 2:18.8 | comfortable meditation spot. No one's interrupting them. Everything seems ideal for them to meditate. |
| 2:29.4 | And then the mind starts to wander or they feel like they have an itch to scratch or they just |
| 2:40.6 | can't stop this restless feeling so if that issue you are going to really |
| 2:48.0 | appreciate today's breathing technique. |
| 2:51.6 | Now, you could also compare energizing yourself |
| 2:56.6 | before you go into more of a state of stillness, |
