Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for supporting me. And today, I want to talk about what will make us happy. Seriously, what will actually make me happy? Like, not just for a day, but sustained. Like, hey, this is great. I am a happy person. I'm living a happy life. My state is that of happiness. It might come and go, of course, but overall, I'm happy. What will do the trick for me?

Happiness as an emotional state is so fleeting. Rightfully so, I guess, but we play such a

large role in our own suffering by continuing to always up the ante as far as what is good enough,

what is happy enough. And I was listening to something this psychologist was saying. Her name is Sondja

Rich Roll podcast, which you might be familiar with. And it was just one line that really got me

thinking. She was talking about tons of great topics there. She was talking about happiness,

a topic that has gotten a lot of attention and research over the past decades as we've become increasingly obsessed with the topic. She said, quote, the preoccupation with our

own happiness mainly exists in the Western world. It's mostly in America, Europe, and Australia

that we have the luxury

to worry about our happiness. If your basic needs aren't met, if you're living with a lot of

uncertainty and instability, you just don't have time in your day to be thinking, oh, am I happy?
