Summary
Be guided in a meditation to release negative thoughts. You'll be guided in a meditation layering the different meditation techniques we've explored in this week's meditation series to detox your thoughts. You'll also discover how nettle tea can be like an entire pharmacy within one herb as it supports your total health. Detoxing is not so often about cleansing and letting go. Some of the best ways to renew yourself include allowing yourself to expand to more of who you are. Every day this week you'll focus on a meditation technique to help you live your life more authentically. You can do this meditation either seated or walking -- you always have a choice. This is part 6 of a 7-Part Meditation Series on Detoxing, Episodes 653-659. As always, you don't have to do the meditation techniques -- they are simply there to help you transition from your busy day to a state of stillness. The techniques also help to calm "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation. | 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I honor you for giving yourself permission to slow down and connect to the best part of who you are. |
| 0:16.0 | And that's what you do when you sit down to meditate, when you show up for yourself. And I know it's |
| 0:22.9 | not always easy to do that, but here you are giving yourself this peace and stillness of your |
| 0:30.9 | meditation. And I'm a meditation teacher who shares a different meditation technique every day on the podcast, |
| 0:40.5 | and each technique is customized around a weekly theme. |
| 0:44.9 | And our theme for this week, as I record today's episode 657, the theme is detox your thoughts. So every meditation this week is all about you detoxing your thoughts. |
| 1:04.6 | And if you've been with me throughout the meditations this week, you've learned a different |
| 1:09.0 | meditation technique, a breathing technique, |
| 1:12.5 | an affirmation, a mudra, a chakra, a visualization. Every day I've offered some technique, and I share |
| 1:21.2 | techniques so that you can do them to help refocus your thoughts, but you can also do them to help you reduce |
| 1:31.3 | stress triggers throughout the day. |
| 1:33.9 | Because likely you're not really feeling stressed out as you sit down to meditate in your |
| 1:40.1 | nice meditation space, although you might sometimes feel stressed out when you do that. |
| 1:46.5 | Some days are just like that. |
| 1:49.1 | You're most likely to encounter your stress triggers in the midst of your day, your busy day, |
| 1:56.2 | when you're out in the world, discovering new opportunities, and meeting challenges as well. |
| 2:03.3 | And this is where the meditation techniques work so beautifully to help you manage stress triggers in a much better way. |
| 2:15.9 | And I want to share with you that it doesn't take long for you to train |
| 2:20.7 | your brain, literally train your brain, and by that I mean create new neural pathways in your |
| 2:28.2 | brain. I bet you didn't realize you were doing that as you sat down to meditate. Well, science now shows that that is indeed. |
| 2:37.5 | What happens in the prefrontal part of your lobe when you sit down to meditate? |
| 2:42.3 | This becomes more activated. |
