Summary

Be guided in a meditation using a breathing technique to cultivate happiness. In this meditation you are guided as you combine an affirmation with your happiness breath. Managing your breath is one of the most powerful ways to notice instant benefits of peace and calm. I offer you a challenge to create your own Happiness project this week. When you learn something new or create something for yourself, you will notice that you experience more happiness. All week long you will explore different meditation techniques to increase your happiness. This is part 3 of a 7-Part Meditation Series on Happiness, Episodes 639-645. As always, you don't have to do the meditation techniques -- they are simply there to help you transition from your busy day to a state of stillness. The techniques also help to calm "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation. And this week also, I challenged you to create a happiness breathing technique. And this week also, I challenged you to create a happiness project. And this is

0:59.8

something where you think about, maybe something you want to learn more about or to explore.

1:09.3

And you focus on that this week. It could be a big project that you

1:14.7

undertake that could last for quite a while or it could be just something simple

1:22.4

such as maybe you want to watch some movies that you've been meaning to watch or learn how to do some new sport or art.

1:36.3

Whatever it may be, challenge yourself. Think about what you would really enjoy learning. It could be a book that you just need to sit down

1:47.4

1:55.0

research has actually studied happiness quite a bit. And it is revealed that people who are constant learners, who are constantly learning new

2:08.6

things, are the happiest.

2:11.6

And that's because I think that when you're learning something new, you feel like you have

2:16.6

a purpose. Even if your purpose is just to try a new food for the week or to maybe try a new herbal tea.

2:25.8

I offer an herbal tea.
