This is Mary Meckley and I honor you for giving yourself permission to slow down and connect to the very best part of who you are.

And in today's guided meditation, we launch into a brand new meditation series on

peace. And this is the very beginning of the holiday season for many people in the world. As I record

this, we're getting ready to begin December 1st.

And where I live in the United States, we just had what is known as Black Friday, where it is supposedly the most popular shopping day of the year. Stores are crowded. People will line up outside to get

first in line for these special discounts on all the different sales that are being offered.

It's really like a sport. People line up to see what kind of deals

they can get. A lot of times they're not even sure what is going to be for sale. But on the other hand,

I would say that a lot of people, including myself, avoid any stores at all on Black Friday.

Because for me, buying gifts to share this holiday season isn't about getting the best deal

or purchasing something or some item. It's more about sharing my gifts with others and appreciating

the gifts that others are sharing with me.

And so this season, I really hope that you can find some peace because in the news these days,

there's been so many sensationalized events that for sure have been tragic.

And I think that when we focus on all the different things going on in the world, which

are always taking place, some of these events are just more publicized than others.

And so it's so important to cultivate a place of peace within yourself.

And keep in mind that the many different events and terror alerts and whatever is happening

in your particular world, of course these things are taking place, but there are so many beautiful things happening in the world as well.

And when you focus on those things, those gifts that you see other people giving the world, then I think that you can

not get so caught up in the frenzy. It's like a frenzy where people are checking the mail,
