Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. This is Mary Meckley and I honor you for showing up for yourself today on a Saturday.

Now, of course, you can listen to any of these meditations in any sequence, but today is a Saturday as I release this meditation and every Saturday at the Daily

It's my way of giving you a gift to go outside and give yourself some time to connect with nature.

It's a reward for all the hard work you've done throughout the week because I know that

and that can take a lot of focus and energy.

So you deserve giving yourself a nice walk

I like you to connect with nature as much as possible anyways

because when you go outside and especially if you are in green spaces,

areas where there's a lot of tall green trees, then you receive a lot of phytochemicals that you may not realize.

There's a lot of amazing benefits that you receive.

Now, science is realizing this more and more.

In fact, in Japan, there are designated forest areas where people walk and they call it forest bathing

and they just go and spend time inhaling and exhaling all these wonderful microbes, healthy microbes,

that are released in the air.

And they've shown that people who live near these areas where there are a lot of tall green trees,

these people have greatly reduced rates of tumors and illness and disease.

So for yourself, try to get out in nature at least one day a week.

And that makes sense for many people to fall on a weekend, a Saturday or Sunday.
