Summary

Do you ever fall off a goal, get back on, and then fall off again in the exact same way? In this episode, I explain why setbacks aren’t the problem and why the way you respond to them determines whether you actually make progress or quietly give up.

You'll hear why simply vowing to “do better next time” doesn’t work, how shame blocks analysis, and how the combination of self-compassion and strategy is what actually creates lasting change. If you want to stop repeating the same setbacks and start building momentum, this episode shows you how.

All right, my friends, it's that time of year when all of our resolutions and goals and all of that bright New Year's energy is starting to flicker and falter for some of us, or some of us that light may have already gone out. So I thought it'd be a great time to revisit one of our best episodes on how to deal with failure. This episode is all about how to handle failure and how to get back up

0:23.2

after you failed. The truth is that challenges, obstacles, and failures are actually part of

0:28.9

achieving a goal, or part of changing a habit, or part of growing into the next iteration of

0:34.1

who you are. They're not avoidableable and they're not evidence that something has gone

0:38.6

wrong. They're actually just part of the process. Solving them is part of achieving a goal or

0:45.1

changing a habit. It's integral. The only problem comes when we make it mean that there's something

0:50.0

wrong with us or we've done something wrong or we're not capable of what we want to do just because

0:55.2

there's been a problem or a challenge. I have failed so many times in my journey. I have failed in

relationships. I have failed in business. I have failed in being the kind of person that I want to

1:07.8

be in forming the habits that I want to have and taking care of myself

1:11.4

the way I want to and taking care of others the way I want to. I have failed constantly. That's because

1:17.0

I am continually trying and evolving and putting myself out there and I'm willing to fail. And I know

1:22.7

how to pick myself back up again when I do. So this episode is such crucial listening if you are a person who

1:30.4

wants to grow and evolve because picking yourself up after you fail is going to be possibly

1:36.0

the most important skill you can have in that process. And if you are someone who wants to grow

1:41.0

and evolve in 2026, then I want to let you know that for only a couple of

1:45.4

days, we are opening enrollment in the feminist self-help society. This is one of my coaching

1:51.5

programs that is designed to help you learn how to coach yourself on any area in your life.

we have been closed for new members since last July. So it's been more than six months.

And we're only opening for a few days. We're really focused on making an incredible year for our
