Hey guys, welcome to episode number 403 of the Industrial Strength Show. I have a great show

0:08.6

for you guys here today. Well, they're all great, right? It's the Industrial Strength Show.

0:16.0

It goes without saying. But there is something a little more special about this one. I must say,

0:26.2

you are about to hear an incredibly open, honest, and just super impactful conversation

0:39.6

that I had with Chris Bartle earlier this week. Let me just start by saying this. We do talk

0:49.4

training because I know there's a lot of people who just they're here for the training talk. You get

0:54.7

that. We talk training. Chris has an awesome system that he uses with his high school athlete

1:00.9

clients that he shares on this podcast. He also talks about his own training, how he currently

1:09.4

trains as a busy entrepreneur, gym owner, etc. So really valuable stuff there. We do talk training.

1:18.0

You get plenty of that. But what I feel is the most impactful part of this podcast and really

1:28.0

was the main reason I reached out to Chris and asked him to come on the podcast is just his openness

1:38.0

and willingness to talk about his steroid and PED use and more specifically the struggles

1:47.7

that he dealt with when he attempted to come off of those drugs and transition from, you know,

1:58.1

jacked up, juiced up, elite level powerlifter to trying to have kids and just trying to transition back

2:10.0

to a quote unquote normal life of being a great husband and wanting to become a dad. And, you know,

2:19.6

I just feel like so many people, especially in the fitness industry, but, you know, I'm sure

2:26.4

just everyone, anyone who trains, anyone who's into working out, there's just so many people who

2:34.8

at some point are going to want or need to make that transition, you know, from the PED use to

2:46.3

clean. And I just feel like while that is a very common thing and a transition that many

2:57.5

will go through, yet there are just so few people who are willing to talk about that transition

3:08.9

because, quite frankly, you know, to steal a quote from Rocky Balboa, that transition ain't

3:18.2

all sunshine and rainbows. As you will hear from Chris, there is depression involved, you know,

...
