Summary

Please do not confuse thoughts with emotions. Many people think that it's our emotions, our feelings, that drive our choices.

It's not.

It's our THOUGHTS. Sure, it can be our thoughts about what we feel, or it can just be thoughts without emotional ties.

If you want to change the choices you make, you've first got to understand the thoughts that drive them, both good & bad.

You have to be willing to surrender this hyper focus on tactic. If you aren't consistently making the kinds of choices you want it, it's not because you've yet to find the right program, meal plan or calorie allotment.

It's because of the way you think prior to making a choice.

Today I'm going to help you discover the thoughts that are helping you, the thoughts that are hurting you and what you can do about it.

And we are going to step away from some of the science stuff today and talk about something

0:40.8

that has come up a couple of times in the past week. And that is understanding what drives

0:48.9

your choices. This is something that many, many people misunderstand and few have mastered.

0:58.1

But it really is one of those things that sets you free.

1:03.0

Here's why I want to spend some time diving into this today.

1:06.3

As I say very often, most of us know how we could be making better choices, right?

1:14.0

We might not know the perfect approach for our bodies and that's okay.

1:18.0

But most of us can easily identify one or two changes we could make to the way we eat,

1:25.2

how much we eat, when or how often we work out, that if we made that change, it would get us

1:31.0

more results. But even though we know it, we don't often do it, even when we want to.

1:38.1

Even when we want to, more than we don't want to. And so we stay in this place where we really

1:44.5

want to change, but we aren't changing. And I will say this for those of you, especially those

1:50.8

of you that are new, who think that I am like a touchy-feely rainbows and butterflies kind of girl?

1:56.7

No. I am not somebody that's going to tell you you need to understand your feelings or get to

2:02.0

the root of some childhood belief about yourself in order to change. Maybe you need that. Maybe you

2:07.0

don't. But I am a nuts and bolts kind of black and white girl who's not really all that touchy
