you again this week. Today, we are talking about seven things you can do to grieve a friendship

breakup. I was reviewing our archives and I'm very surprised I have not yet done a specific episode

talking about how to cope through a breakup of a friendship.

I've talked about how to ask for what you need, about how there may be signs that a friendship

is over, about how to identify healthy friends.

I believe that's in there somewhere. But grieving a

friendship breakup is not here. And friendship breakups are the most devastating breakups, in my opinion.

I think romantic relationships are obviously very hard, but there's still kind of an understanding,

one, that romantic breakups may happen, even when you're not planning for them to.

There's a precedent that, you know, sometimes things don't work out, and there are resources

for breakups with romantic partners and divorces and

support groups and people talk about it very often. But when it comes to friendship breakups,

it's just at the most that people say, oh, I'm sorry to hear that. And then there's a quick

moving on and there's an expectation that you're supposed to move on, but friendships are a chosen family.
