Hi, this is Steve. So far on the Cinephiles, we have talked about some of the greatest directors of all time, including Kubrick, Copelandtino, and of course, the endlessly fascinating Orson Wells.

Well this week we get to add another great filmmaker to the list.

Martin Scorsese has been challenging and surprising audiences for more than 40 years.

His films combine gritty realism with a style

and craftsmanship that's all his own. No one makes movies like Scorsese

and there are a whole bunch of his films that we would love to talk about on the

cinnphiles.

The question was where to start.

After much debate, we settled on his 1990 gangster masterpiece, Goodfellas, starring

Ray Leota, Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, and Lorraine Broco.

It's available for Rental on Amazon and iTunes, and there's a very good Blu-ray.

For its performances, its craftsmanship, and Martin Scorsese's incredible style, Goodfellas is a must watch for movie
