Hey, it's Jenny from 1,000 hours outside, here to talk today about where 1,000 hours outside came from.

Our kids love to read comic books and I think some of them have an origin issue so that's

what this is one thousand hours outside the origin issue where did it start and how can you join in to what we've got going

on? So my journey really starts back when I became pregnant.

I was in 2007.

And, you know, throughout pregnancy,

I think like most moms,

I was trying to learn as much as I could and so I was reading books about pregnancy

and babies and toddlers and you know we had this grand scheme in place we had our birth plan ready to go

and as it became closer to the due date I started thinking about, what am I really going to do with this child all day?

And I was planning on staying home with a baby and, you know, I had all this information about birth and how to

pack my hospital bag but really no information about what are we going to do? And so I started reading a little bit more about that and sort of listening

to other people had said and I came up with this grand plan that I was going to break the day up into segments.

And you know during the first segment, I can't even remember what they all were, but like during

the first segment it was like we were going to nurse and then I was going to read books and then

To the baby and then he was going to nap and while he napped I was going to exercise.

And then during the second segment we were going to go for a walk.

Or well first, no, no first we were going to nurse and then we were going to go for a walk and then he would nap and I would clean.

And then during the third segment, oh who knows, maybe he was like nurse and then tummy time and then he would nap and I would cook dinner, you know from scratch.

So I had this grandiose plan, totally prepared for it, and you know from the get go the whole thing fell apart.

It was like a birth plan didn't work out, you know and then he just didn't want to do any of my plans.

He didn't want a nap, and he basically just wanted to nurse.
