Recording our second podcast today,

we're going to be talking about how to get outside even when the weather turns really cold.

So we're excited to talk about that because it is one of the top

questions we get asked about. What about the winter? So if you haven't yet, you join the 1000 hours outside challenge for 2019.

You can actually start that whenever you want.

What we're trying to do is we're trying to match nature time with screen time throughout the course of a calendar year.

So whenever you start, you're just looking from that day forward to a year from then to see if you are able to match outside play with time in front of a screen,

which in America the average is 1,200 hours a year for kids, 1,200 hours a year of screen time every

year.

And so we're actually just aiming for a thousand.

It's maybe a little bit more doable and it's also just more catchy.

So we're going for 1,000 hours outside in a calendar year.

Or you can make your own goal. Different people have different life circumstances,

so it's not necessarily about the exact number

as much as it is about intentionality

and making sure that nature time doesn't lose out to all these other great

activities that are available for kids.

So you start recording your time, you take back childhood, and we make sure that children get a multitude and variety of experiences.

Simply taking them outside will do that.
