Welcome to the daily meditation podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I'm a meditation teacher who

weekly theme and our theme for this week in episode 616 is all about managing and overcoming loneliness.

Loneliness has reached epidemic proportions in many places of the world,

especially places that are technologically advanced.

People spend so much time on their devices, but even so I think that many people live in neighborhoods

where there's no reason to really connect. People are often transient, living a very transient lifestyle,

where they're only at a location for a few years.

And so they don't really feel the need to reach out and make friends when they're going to be moving in just a short amount of time.

And so if you find yourself in a situation like this,

you can feel very isolated and lonely.

And you could also feel lonely if you're very connected in your family with your friends and your community

but you feel like you've outgrown your community meaning that you want something different or

something more there's nothing there that really inspires you that you are

searching for something new and if that's your case I've been in both of those

situations and if that's your case I encourage you to start a quest and I

guided you through a meditation yesterday where you discovered how to

start a quest where you select something that you want to learn more about something that

inspires you and you feed your soul with this.
