There's a scene in World War Z. I think Brad Pitts in his helicopter and it's circling around.

I think they're in Israel. And there's a horde of zombies trying to figure out how to get into it, right?

And they built this tower and it's just ridiculous.

And that's how I see it.

It's like everybody in the VFX industry, at least the people

are that they're in charge are like, it doesn't matter.

We're gonna get slaughtered. We're gonna race towards this horrible ending and it doesn't matter. Welcome back futurists to another episode, The Future Podcast. As you can tell from the cold

open we're going to be in for a bumpy ride because I'm going to dive deep with Mr Ryan Summers and talk about what's ailing the visual effects industry.

You're also going to be hearing from Sam Burns.

He's going to be stepping into the spotlight a little bit.

He's the guy who's been editing the podcast.

So I've encouraged him to kind of weave his own narrative and his own voice into the

into it. For those of us that don't know who you are can you introduce yourself right?

Sure yeah my name's Ryan Summers I'm a creative director at a company in

Chicago called Digital Kitchen but in previous lives I've been a character

animator I've been a blogger I've been an editor I actually was a chemist

before I got all started with this. And I just, I love animation, I love film,

and I love talking about it.

I always look forward to having people like you on

who have been in the industry for a while, who a point of view and are well read and articulate.

So this is going to be a super exciting conversation for me to have and I want to just jump right in and talk about the V effects industry.
