My wife and I would always have these conversations of like someone's going to do a live faculty mentorship online thing for motion graphics or we would say somebody should somebody should do that and say well eventually someone will some qualified person will

someone who really knows what they're doing is going to do it and long story short

enough years went by where it just we just never saw it pop up and we said we're

going to put this together. All right guys, listen up. You know that we're talking about the future of education, so it's always a delight for me to be able to find other people who share the same mindset.

One of which is Michael Jones. The name sounds familiar to you. It's not what you think, it's not the rapper,

it's not the hip-hop artist. It's Michael Jones, he's the founder of Mograph mentor.

We're going to talk about his journey, the importance of mentorship, his unusual path to getting there, and the future of education.

My name is Michael Jones. I'm the founder of MoGraf Mentor. I live in Bend Oregon with my wife and my daughter.

I have a background in motion design.

I did that for many years.

I really learned a lot working,

kind of the studio circuit in Portland.

So many great art directors, creative directors that invested in me totally changed my life.

And that really began to blossom into a passion for working with younger artists and putting together educational programs and somewhere along the line I learned that I was more

Probably analytical than I was even talented artistically.

So, started putting together MoGraf mentor,

started recruiting the best motion designers in the world

and putting together the program, and now we're in year four.

That's incredible.

When you said you're a motion designer,

did you work on the design side or the animation side?
