The first Valentine's Day that my husband Ryan and I were dating.

He showed up on the doorstep of my college apartment with a bouquet of flowers and a clue that started me on a scavenger hunt.

All over our college town to different places where we had shared romantic moments.

Now our first Valentine's Day after we became parents seven years later, he showed up at our doorstep with a toilet plunger.

He had received a frantic text from me while he was at work saying, when will you be home?

Can you stop at home depot and get a toilet plunger?

Noah threw something down the toilet and I really need to use it.

So, parenthood definitely changes dynamics in your marriage and within your love life.

But I must say that I think I was even happier to receive that lessed toilet plunger than I was to receive the bouquet of flowers years earlier.
