Adults-only dining, daddy-daughter dates & is THIS the only way kids actually learn?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, happy Monday!!!! We are coming off of a SOCIAL weekend (read: Harrison is doing another fast, but we ALSO have tons of fun topics that came out of it). We start with a survey finding that's going viral: 75% of Americans say restaurants should have adults-only sections. 1) We kind of think this already exists (on the down low… hostesses let us know), and 2) there is a HUGE opportunity for someone to create a Hillstone x Chuck E. Cheese crossover. Then we're asking: is THIS the ONLY way kids will actually learn??? (We need to know how YOU would have handled the Tate vs. Coke Zero situation - but we’re happy we treated it as a learning opportunity) And another reminder this week: toddlers imitate EVERYTHING (burping your newborn is confusing for your toddler who is not allowed to “hit”). Oh, and body wash is officially being picked up by toes in the shower (watch the full ep for details AND send help). Plus, a 4th of July idea you can steal (the neighborhood bike parade!!), SEEKING TIPS on how to stop a toddler from drinking pool water (our toddler’s brain is genuinely in a pretzel over this one), the street safety monster (??), our BICKER OF THE WEEK on showing up late vs. empty handed (we are FIRMLY on opposite sides), the Houston students stuck on a Galveston roller coaster (Alex would be scaling the roller coaster herself), our TWEET OF THE WEEK on the dad doing monthly daddy-daughter dates (Harrison is officially stealing this), and THINGS WE DMED EACHOTHER on Google releasing 32 MILLION mosquitoes (don't worry, they can't bite OR reproduce). (P.S. sorry I was on speakerphone it’s only for this episode!!!! -Jules) LOVE YOU GUYS! Holding the line, location sharing & is optimization culture making us miserable?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we are SO BACK (lol… we're feeling like this is our first full on episode back since having Rocky 🥹) And we're getting into a bunch of stuff. A big one: "holding the line" as parents, especially around bedtime (our ask: this this necessary?!), and the broader conversation of rule vs. suggestion (and the importance of being consistent… which is something we needed to talk to OURSELVES about hahaha). Off the top we get into optimization culture: Harrison did a 36-hour fast this week (per his longevity doctor!!), which spirals into a bigger convo about how we've all gone a LITTLE too far. Like, you have two glasses of wine and now it takes you 3 days to recover?! Steven Bartlett, we love you, but come on. Our take: live in the middle (a "moderate 365"… not a hard 75!). Then we get into the great location sharing debate (a la the Summer House reunion). Harrison’s take: you should you share your location ALL the time or NEVER (also like is it the new moral compass?!) Plus the rest of our Summer House reunion thoughts (we feel for Kyle now?!). Plus, why kids freeze up when you tell them to "say hi" (& what to do instead!), teaching street safety through modeling, which transition was actually harder (0 to 1 we THINK!), newborn gas & spit up (am I overthinking it?), Tate's communication leap (!!!!), and a bunch of other fun stuff (s/o Kate for suggesting a segment of Alex just pronouncing words wrong hahahah). LOVE YOU GUYS! Neighborhood BBQ, staying up past bedtime & our first LIVE Q&A

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, it's what we call a quick "chit chat" episode to start off your 4-day work week :-) Harrison joins us for all of about a minute before we sent him home with the kids… but NOT BEFORE Tate said "hello" to the pod listeners (guys, she was so proud of herself for using the mic). We start with our MDW block party recap. We had 200+ people show up, the dunk tank was the unexpected MVP, and Harrison flipped 200+ burgers/dogs (because the man does everything 200%). OH — and it wouldn't be a block party in Austin if a Waymo didn't get confused and stuck on our street for like 15 minutes (hahahha). We also get into our actual TIPS on how to throw your own block party because it's so much easier than you think (even though it was a big “get out of your comfort zone” moment for us). Then we get into a little pop culture: the ESPN announcer who refused to say Taylor Swift's name during the Cavs game (?? still confused why), Jessica Simpson didn't even NEED to make a comeback (you guys… her net worth is $200M vs. Hilary Duff's $20M, which completely flipped our opinion from last ep), and we covered her response to the Nick Lachey flight situation (her mom bought the first class tickets… mystery solved!). Then we continue our new ongoing debate over crown vs. crayon (10% of you actually say crown!!), which spirals us into a whole conversation about regional dialects (the NYT Dialect Quiz, the Cleveland "tree lawn", and Alex saying "sea-ment" instead of "cement"). Oh and apparently Jules made a VIRAL BuzzFeed quiz back in the day that had millions of hits (which Halo Top flavor are you?! Guys please take this and lmk in the comments - https://www.buzzfeed.com/minichjg/can-we-guess-your-go-to-halo-top-flavor-with-six-q-37u2u).  Plus, because Harrison left with the kids and we had time on our hands, we went TIKTOK LIVE with you guys to do a Q&A for the first time!!! We got into so many random questions in real time: moving, potty training, the hardest part of parenthood, the Pumpables pump that has changed my life, and so much more. Then we end with two important (read facetiously) questions: should you let your kid stay up past bedtime if they're reading? (The "run or read" bedtime hack that's getting a lot of buzz online.) AND… is it socially acceptable to bring Jules's new ORANGE iPhone 17 Pro Max to a black tie wedding?! (We think yes, because Morgan Stewart said so.) OK hope you guys had fun — WE DID! LOVE YOU GUYS! Timestamps:  00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:01:29 Memorial Day block party recap 00:11:41 What’s going on at home 00:16:05 ESPN announcer refused to say Taylor Swift's name?! 00:19:16 Jessica Simpson is worth HOW much?! Night nurses, potty training prep & what is the etiquette for befriending a friend's friend?

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we have an unintentional Q&A episode because Alex put up a story box late last night, and we ended up answering your Qs for like… 45 minutes 🤭 So tons of practical stuff in here, including: WHY we decided to hire a night nurse and what it actually looks like for us (you guys had so many questions about this!), our potty training prep for Tate (she's 19 months and showing all the signs… are we ready?!), and then not so practical stuff like our thoughts on the Blake Lively / Justin Baldoni case (hahahha). OK TLDR on YOUR other questions: Tate is OBSESSED with her new baby doll (the imaginative play era is real and so cute), how we organize the kids' clothes for potential future babies (sticker printer + labeled bins, very not Alex), wedding & honeymoon plans (we're getting back into it!! safari for the honeymoon??), and how did I know Harrison was the one (spoiler: it was the way he answered "how was your day?" lol). Plus, do we want more boys or girls for the next two kids, formula feeding guilt when your milk hasn't come in yet, the "I want to try for #2 but I'm SO nervous to be overwhelmed" question, and a viral trend ("me on a Tuesday morning because I didn't marry a loser"… we have thoughts). Then we get into pop culture: Harrison's full Summer House finale + In The City review (skip the first 9 minutes if you don't watch lol), Craig Conover wrote a CHILDREN'S BOOK?!, Alex is officially loving Off Campus (Jules is shocked), and our Survivor finale predictions. Plus, TWEET OF THE WEEK on Jeff Bezos's tax proposal (the bottom 50% should pay 0% in taxes — and Alex is making us all vote on it), THINGS WE DMED: the etiquette around befriending a friend's friend (the 3-hangout rule + are you a bridge friend or a moat friend?!), a Memorial Day block party update (we're at 80 people and Alex rented a DUNK TANK?!), and THIS WEEK WE LEARNED how fingerprints actually form in the womb (mind blown). LOVE YOU GUYS! Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:04:39 Skip if you don't watch Summer House & In The City lol 00:13:00 Craig Conover wrote a children's book?! 00:15:23 Tate is OBSESSED with her new baby doll (& the power of imaginative play) 🥹 00:20:56 Listener Q: How do you / how to organize the kids clothes for potential future babies?  00:22:23 Listener Q: Wedding / honeymoon plans!? 00:27:35 Listener Q: Off campus thoughts? 00:30:25 Quick pause for Survivor finale predictions 00:32:48 Listener Q: How did I know Harrison was the one? 00:38:02 Listener Q: Do you know any updates on the Blake Lively Justin Belden case. What are your thoughts? 00:38:53 Listener Q: Would love to hear more about the Night Nurse and why you chose that. Besides the obvious 💗 00:43:59 Listener Q: Do you want more boys or girls for the next two kids? 00:48:46 Listener Q: Mom guilt around feeding formula? Doorbell friends, the eldest daughter effect & outsourcing your night nurse?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we're talking about the lost art of the "doorbell friend" (we just learned we have these and it makes us feel like we're in a sitcom LOL). Which spirals into a whole convo about how in-person social interaction has plummeted and what can be done to bring back the 90s childhood mindset. Then we get into Memorial Day block party planning (watermelon seed spitting contest, three-legged race, & getting Kennedy Urich's boyfriend Bobby to do a concert?!), and the fact that we have OFFICIALLY broken ground on the pool (after a whole pipe-moving saga that was NOT in the budget lol). In other neighborhood news, Alex is officially starting a book club!!! We get into the best books Alex has read lately (Mean Moms, Strangers, and the book book club is starting with: Yesteryear). Plus, fan-casting the Stranger TV adaptation (Nicole Kidman + Ryan Phillippe?!). Then we get into Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey ending up on the SAME flight to Hawaii (what are the chances?!), date night midweek vs. Saturday night (spoiler alert: Thursday wins), and the great event eating debate (should you eat before attending an event with dinner?!) Then it's Rocky's 1 month update (he's a GRAZER, his wake windows are lengthening, and Alex got cleared to work out!), and BICKER OF THE WEEK on whether you should be an out-and-backer or a looper on your neighborhood walks (Alex has her reasons!!!). Plus, TWEET OF THE WEEK on the fact that 9 out of 10 women physicians are eldest daughters (Dr. Tate?!), and TWO THINGS WE DMED EACH OTHER: that viral video of the granddaughter teaching her 102 + 89 year old grandparents how to use DoorDash (heartwarming!!!) and the guy outsourcing his night nurse to the Philippines (seems completely unnecessary??). And finally, our favorite baby products from the first month (RIP the wipe warmer for Rocky, the SNOO and Doona stay undefeated)! LOVE YOU GUYS! Teaching toddlers to share, Mother’s/Father’s day gifts & is the dad bod REAL?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we are deep in the weeds of toddler social skills, specifically: how to actually teach a toddler to share and the power of modeling behavior for toddlers because… they are watching (and copying) EVERYTHING. Then we recap Mother's Day (the four of us at the coffee shop, my protein pancakes at The Well, and then our chaotic visit to a new store in Austin (s/o to Tiffany the most patient employee in the store, we love you). Plus, Harrison's Father's Day request (NO gifts (how many times has he said this on the pod until Alex listens lol)) and a little 2 under 2 update because Tate is more and more OBSESSED with Rocky everyday and we genuinely did not expect this 🥹 Plus, is the "dad bod" actually science?! (Apparently prolactin levels go UP in dads but Harrison is calling BS) and Harrison going VIRAL on Twitter for being a "basic Austin man" (baseball hat, scruff, plaid button-down) hahhaha  And the fun stuff: our weekly (?) Waymo segment (sorry we can't help it), is it actually rude to customize your coffee order, what's the deal with DOGS in strollers, is the Hantavirus about to be lockdown 2.0, do we care if comedians don't write their own jokes, why Survivor is officially THE best couples show, and a home renovation hack we genuinely needed to share because the savings are JAW DROPPING (skip the GC!). The 411 on Toddler Sleep: regressions, sleep training & the ideal bedtime routine (w/ Dr. Ari Brown)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we're back with ONE parent & our returning guest Dr. Ari Brown (Pediatrician + Author of the iconic 411 series) for the SLEEP episode every parents needs! We start with why sleep is SO important (for both kids AND parents), how to create a healthy sleep routine from DAY ONE, and the "sleep crutches" you need to AVOID if possible (s/o to any parent who has been the human Uber to the land of nod hahaha). Then we get into what to ACTUALLY do when your baby/toddler wakes up in the middle of the night and why Dr. Ari likes to refer to “sleep regressions" as PROGRESSIONS (mind blown!!). Plus (random tangent), Dr. Ari's take on melatonin & traveling time zones (the ONE time she'll recommend it). Then, the ideal nap schedule from baby through toddler, and the #1 biggest mistake parents make around sleep (which we 100% have been guilty of). Then we get into some of the tactical stuff: should you EVER give your toddler a bottle before bed? Crib vs. co-sleeping vs. bed sharing (without the shame!), and when to actually transition from crib to bed (spoiler: longer than you think!!). We also break down what an ideal toddler bedtime routine looks like, how screens are impacting your kid's sleep, and how diet & physical activity actually move the needle. Plus, a fun rapid-fire game: COMMON SLEEP ISSUE vs. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR.  Finally, it’s not a sleep episode without Dr. Ari's take on sleep training & cry it out (and the protest vs. crying it out distinction that totally clicked for us), and she shares her famous S.L.E.E.P. plan 💤 LOVE YOU GUYS! Our first postpartum date night, nanny share update & World Cup 2026

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, Alex is officially BACK (kind of… NO PRESSURE (and we talk about this mindset in the ep!)). We have lots of updates (recording 1 non-guest episode per week has been hard on us lol)… BUT we're recapping our first date night post-baby (iHeart Country Music Festival!!) and the thing we did beforehand that made me SO excited to go. Other "IRL" stuff we get into: Tate's dance recital (😩), group swim lessons & a feeding journey update (get this: NOT crying over spilled milk… who am I?!). Then we get into week 3 with 2 under 2: our biggest mistake (starting a pool build with a newborn… we knew it was dumb, we did it anyway), what's been working well, and why stress levels feel SO much lower this time around. Plus, the Anne Hathaway clip about being tired that is living rent-free in my head (“I’m really into the reason that I’m tired”). Then we get into YOUR most common Bickers of the Week, which spirals us into a handful of other topics: Harrison's HOT TAKE on Delta cutting beverage & snack service on short flights, RIP Spirit Airlines, and an open plea to car manufacturers: WHY don't 6-door cars exist?! And finally, is anyone else seeing WORLD CUP 2026 marketing absolutely EVERYWHERE?! We're pumped to watch, but I needed help understanding what's what. Harrison explained the key players as celebrities (France = Kardashians, Spain = Taylor Swift, USA = Glen Powell (????), and more) plus our final picks for who's going to win 🏆 LOVE YOU GUYS! Everything you need to know about feeding your newborn (with The Baby Feeding Experts)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we're joined by Kyla and Courtney (SLPs & IBCLCs) from Baby Feeding Experts for the feeding episode we NEEDED before the birth of baby #2. We sat down with them the week before I got induced with Rocky, so this one is extremely relevant for anyone preparing to feed a newborn (and full transparency, I came in with a LONG list of questions to try to improve on the feeding experience I had the first time). We start with my feeding journey with Tate and how round 2 is shaping up so far (planning for 80/20 this time!), why Kyla & Courtney want to officially retire "fed is best" AND "breast is best" (their take on "support + education is best" is going to make so much sense to you), how to set realistic feeding goals before baby arrives, and the MOST INTERESTING thing we learned (did you know you should measure your nipples?? because apparently 90% of women are NOT a 24mm and this completely blew my mind). Then we break the rest of the episode into three buckets so you can skip to whatever applies to you: 🤱 IF YOU WANT TO BREASTFEED: How to prep before birth, why the first 2 hours after birth set the foundation for your entire supply, how partners can actually be helpful (s/o Dada), the most common issues in the first few weeks, building your supply from day one, weight gain in breastfed babies, perceived vs. actual low milk supply, and whether diet & hydration ACTUALLY moves the needle. 🍼 IF YOU WANT TO COMBO FEED: Who's a good candidate, the biggest mistakes parents make (going too fast is #1!!), how to actually combo feed, plus pumping vs. nursing and tips for managing nipple biting and D-MER (yes, the thing I had with Tate that I'm hoping to avoid this time). 👶 IF YOU WANT TO FORMULA FEED: A little known fact (75% of babies will have formula before 6 months!!), what to think about before deciding to exclusively formula feed, how to choose the right formula for you, and the kind of support available for formula feeding moms (yes, even from lactation consultants!). Plus, the truth about tongue ties & lip ties (which has become SUCH a hot topic on the internet) and where to find Kyla & Courtney for more support. I learned SO much from this conversation and I genuinely think every expecting mom (or current mom!!) should listen. Send this to a friend who's pregnant!! LOVE YOU GUYS! Our first two weeks with 2 under 2, Mother's Day gift ideas & is “dad brain” real?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, it's Harrison's second solo episode… but jk lol because Alex (and Rocky!!!) decided to join in studio, just not on camera (ps. we heard you guys on the whole speakerphone thing hahaha). So Harrison is hosting, Alex is on the mic, Rocky is snoozing, and we're recapping the first two weeks as a family of four. We get into Alex's feeding journey so far (no longer a just-enough-er!!!), the anniversary date we've officially decided on (the day we MET, not the day we got married…fight us about it), and the very real conversation we had on our walk this morning about how many kids we actually want now that we have 2 (spoiler: 3, and a maybe to 4??). OK then we have a push present REVEAL (yes, the brown box that was right in front of Alex’s eyes for MONTHS had a pink LV Speedy in it), Mother's Day gift ideas for the guys listening (phone cases, name necklaces, shopping sprees… you're welcome), a quick update on Alex’s mat leave, and a real recap of the first two weeks with 2 under 2 (the divide and conquer dynamic, what advice we took too far, the new morning + bedtime routines, and yes the SNOO is working with baby #2!!!). Plus, we get into something on Harrison’s mind this week: can dads have "mom brain" too?! (Apparently yes, and the more involved you are, the worse it is???) Then a "What We're Watching" update - Survivor Season 50 (& Harrison is officially applying for 2027??) and the Summer House drama continues (no, we didn't listen to the leaked audio). We also have a new segment to try out: TWEET OF THE WEEK (GLP-1s are out-earning the entire AI industry?!), and THINGS WE DMED EACHOTHER on the hot take that dads only really need to show up once baby #2 arrives… do we agree?! (NO!). LOVE YOU GUYS! Ps. Guys this is Jules now I need to say that I know Election Day is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November (idk WHERE I got the Nov 4th thing (2008???) but I swear I black out when we record lol) Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:03:02 Alex's feeding journey so far 00:09:12 We've officially picked our anniversary date 00:12:32 How many kids do we want now that we have 2 under 2? 00:16:52 Alex’s push present reveal 00:19:55 Alex’s mat leave update  00:23:15 Mother's Day gift ideas 00:30:02 Our first 2 weeks with 2 under 2 (Intro, routines, etc) 00:41:22 Are any of Rocky’s nicknames sticking? 00:43:42 Can dad’s have “mom brain” too?!  00:49:15 WHAT WE’RE WATCHING: Survivor Season 50 00:52:22 The Summer House Drama continues… 00:59:51 Jules is afraid to hold Rocky lol  01:01:42 TWEET OF THE WEEK (new segment?!): GLP-1s vs. AI revenue 01:08:59 THINGS WE DMED EACHOTHER: “Hot Take: Dads with two kids” 01:16:00 LOVE YOU GUYS! #twoparentsandapod -------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Little Spoon: Give them meals + snacks that are actually right for where kids are developmentally—balanced, intentional and made to support real growth. Preparing your child for a new sibling: before, first meeting & avoiding sibling rivalry (Dr. Becky)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re joined by Dr. Becky Kennedy (Good Inside) for a conversation we are SO GLAD we had two days before welcoming baby #2. This episode is basically a crash course in all things new siblings, starting with how to prep your existing child(ren), what to do during the first meeting, and how to manage things once you’re finally home. First, she level sets something we think every parent needs to hear: the goal is not raising the world’s most thrilled big sibling on day one (because... that’s just not a thing lol). With that in mind, Dr. Becky shares practical tips (that take all of 15 seconds) to ACTUALLY help prep your toddler for a new baby. Then we get into the first meeting itself: hospital or house? Gift or no gift? Job or no job? And she covers toddler reactions during this intro that can feel super alarming, but are often completely expected. And then we get into sibling dynamics... what to do in those very glamorous moments when everyone is crying and nobody wants to share mom, and why trying to be “fair” can actually be the thing CAUSING sibling rivalry. So if you’ve got baby #2 (or 3 or 4) on the way, watch this episode. Or send it to a friend who might need it, because this one DEFINITELY helped us :-) Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:00:37 Meet Dr. Becky Kennedy (Clinical Psychologist, Founder & CEO at Good Inside, & Mom of 3) 00:02:28 How perceptive are toddlers, actually? 00:07:00 One of the biggest disservices we do to toddlers when introducing a new sibling  00:10:35 Best practices for prepping siblings 00:16:52 Biggest mistakes when introducing siblings 00:19:06 Why understanding your own child matters most 00:22:25 Dr. Becky’s #1 tip for introducing a toddler to a new baby 00:24:37 The unfair expectations we put on toddlers 00:26:53 Hospital or house: where should siblings meet? 00:28:45 Should you give the older sibling a gift or a job? 00:33:45 Reactions that alarm parents but are actually normal 00:36:41 Expected behavior vs. cause for concern 00:44:38 What to do when both kids are crying 00:48:47 Why narrating to babies and toddlers matters 00:51:08 Good Inside Baby: first 24 hours home + partnership after baby 01:02:48 Shaping sibling dynamics for the long term 01:11:48 There’s nothing more important than repair 01:13:40 THANK YOU FOR LISTENING! #twoparentsandapod --------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Hero Bread: Hero Bread is offering 10% off your order. NEWBORN Q&A: Rocky’s birth story, Alex’s postpartum update & how Tate is adjusting

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, WELCOME BABY ROCKY 🩵 OK hi guys - this is Jules!!! Here’s the rundown for today: Harrison is in the host chair for a newborn Q&A, so first of all, THANK YOU to everyone who submitted question (@Harrison how are my manners??). Alex joined by phone from bed with baby Rocky, and YES, we are aware the sound quality is giving “speakerphone in the trenches” at first... but we promise it gets better around the 14-minute mark lol. We get into Rocky’s birth story from Harrison’s perspective, why this delivery was night-and-day from the first one, how Alex is doing postpartum, and why they ended up staying at the hospital longer than expected.  Then Harrison answers YOUR questions: Rocky’s full name, the other baby boy names they almost picked, the nicknames already starting to happen, and the completely bizarre phenomenon where your first child somehow comes home looking five years older overnight. He also talks about how they introduced Tate to Rocky, how she’s adjusting so far, and what they’re most excited about as she steps into big sister life. Plus, whether having a boy feels any different than having a girl, whether Harrison cried when Rocky was born, and his advice for dads in the delivery room. And because this is still Two Parents & A Podcast, we get into Alex’s first postpartum meal, Rocky’s first stock (lol) & make plenty of episodes we’ve recorded but not put out yet hahahha (Dr. Becky, Dr. Brown & Feeding Specialist  what surprised Harrison most about becoming a second-time dad, Rocky’s first stock (lol), and how baby #2 is already feeling different from Tate in all the tiny ways you don’t really know to expect until you’re living it. We’re married!!! + everything we’re feeling before baby boy arrives

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we recorded the night before induction day for baby boy… and also we got married!!! (That’s it.. that’s the description hahahaha but if you need more info ⬇️) In true Two Parents fashion, this episode is a mix of (very big) life updates, a little video diary to ourselves (we ran back the same questions we answered the night before Tate was born), and, randomly, a full discussion about a first-date dealbreaker (something about bringing your own cutlery?!). We talk about why we decided to make it official before baby #2 arrived, whether we still want the big wedding, and everything we’re feeling going into life as a family of 4. We answer listener questions about knowing when you’re ready for a second baby, what excites us most (and makes us the most nervous) about adding another baby to the family, what we’d tell ourselves at the beginning of pregnancy, our biggest advice for other parents just starting out, whether we have any pregnancy regrets, how we chose baby boy’s name, what we think birth will be like this time around, and how we think life is about to change. Oh and lots about queso lol.    We love you guys so much. Thanks for being here with us through all of it :) Timestamps:  00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:01:52 Light housekeeping before mat leave 00:06:09 We got married!!! 00:14:57 Listener Q: How did you know you were ready for a second baby? Newborn hot takes (vaccines, formula vs. breastfeeding & visitors in the first week)

This week on Two PARENTS & A Podcast, we have the parenting heavy episode you guys have been asking for :) With baby #2 coming in T-2 days, we’re revisiting all the newborn decisions that hit at once (that also happen to be some of the most loaded topics on the internet). So we rapid-fire (if 30+ mins can be considered rapid-fire) through the big ones: letting a newborn cry, co-sleeping, formula vs. breastfeeding, vaccinating on schedule, sleep training before 4 months, visitors in the first week, taking a newborn out in public early, feeding on demand, kissing the baby, and who should actually be getting up in the middle of the night.  Before that, we get into Bicker of the Week x2 (turning off a show in the middle + fruit flies), when kids learn their parents’ first names (like does anyone actually know this answer??), and the very rude reminder that the last week of pregnancy is its own full-body (and mind) experience. Oh and Harrison told me that yes, my push present is now officially outside the return window lol. Then, because our brains are obviously in 14 places at once right now, we do a Bieber update (including the revelation that SWAG does NOT stand for swagger), Alex Cooper vs. Alix Earle (Lix vs. Lex), and end on the very weird emotional reality that baby #2 still isn’t fully clocking (s/o Justin) for us yet. LOVE YOU GUYS! Coachella, nighttime paci update & when is it OK to honk?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we are LOCKED IN on Coachella Weekend 1. SORRY in advance if this is a little bit of a departure from the norm, but it was truly all we could think about this week (besides the fact that the baby is coming in T-5 days... are we using Coachella as a distraction? Probably). And if you were worried this one wasn’t parent-heavy enough, don’t worry... Jules already yelled at us about that, so make sure you stay for the second half. So yes, we spend the first 40 minutes getting into Justin Bieber’s nostalgic comeback (is he BACK back??), StubHubGate, our idea for a parent version of Coachella (Babychella, obviously), Coachella vs. the Masters, and somehow Justin Trudeau x Katy Perry at Coachella (does he have Coachella pull??? lol). Then we get into a little nighttime paci update because limiting the paci to bedtime really does seem to be helping the whole process, plus the very humbling reminder that no two pregnancies are the same. We also talk about what it feels like when your “pregnancy class” starts graduating before you, which is a very niche but very real emotional experience lol. Then it’s Bicker of the Week on when it is actually OK to honk, why it feels weirdly awkward when parents ask if your kid can have food, and This Week We Learned: move the baby to dad’s side of the bed. LOVE YOU GUYS! Labor induction, zodiac signs & the craziest places to give birth

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking labor induction, due date myths, and birth signs (because YES, we are officially T-10 days and I’m overanalyzing cusp babies, my last meal before birth, and why hospital bags are such a thing in the first place.) We also get into WHY I’m getting induced again, the fact that dilation charts are absolutely insane (Cheerio -> BAGEL?!), and the craziest places people have given birth (NYC subway car = new fear unlocked), which, if anything, did not calm me down at all. We start with Facebook in 2026 being the actual wild, wild west, Harrison getting very locked in for the World Cup (turns out it’s not for 2 months??? but it’s EVERYWHERE), and the realization that kids really do teach you to stop and smell the roses (literally). Plus, Tate’s first dance recital is coming and I’m already emotional about it. Then we get into a little pop culture break, including who is actually A-list (apparently NOT Hilary Duff??), West and Amanda (skip if you must), and our Paradise season 1 review. Plus, sorry, we have like 10 minutes of doom and gloom: (1) Texas Roadhouse “butter” not actually being butter, and (2) lead found in baby clothes (guys... being a consumer is hard). Okay, finally, we end with something to celebrate: a plane passenger gives birth mid-flight, and both mom and baby are healthy!!! I tried to think of the craziest place I could give birth and we figured it out (LIVE ON THE POD hahahha).  LOVE YOU GUYS! Postpartum prep, toddler street safety & can your kid have too many toys?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re coming off Easter weekend (still in our pastels!) and Harrison is officially petitioning for no work on Easter Mondays (too much Aperol!) Which got us thinking... when did Easter become Christmas in spring?!  That turns into a bigger conversation about gifts, toys, and the very real question of whether your kid can actually have TOO MANY (especially once you find the one toy they’ll play with for 30+ mins and suddenly everything else in the room starts feeling unnecessary).  We also get into postpartum prep for baby #2, and how buying all of that stuff again brought back a LOT of memories from the first time around (some of which I think I had conveniently blocked out). We talk through what we actually need this time, what we’re doing differently with baby #2, and why second-time prep feels way less chaotic. Then we get into the toddler phase we’re very much in right now: teaching street safety without fully terrifying yourself (and the toddler!!!), whether “gentle parenting” got a bad rap, and what a kid under 2 can actually understand when you’re trying to keep them safe. Plus, a little reality TV break (we see the comments are mixed - skip this section if you hate it, comment what we should watch next if you love it) , audiobooks vs. reading (pt. 2983482), the commenter who may have finally solved Harrison’s cough, and two fun things we DMed eachother: Japan Airlines’ baby icon and the Chick-fil-A family phone challenge. Our baby name, phone-free family time & when should you stop swearing in front of your kids?

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking baby names (because we FINALLY landed on one for baby boy), plus a new little experiment we’ve been trying (and LOVING) at home: phone-free family time from 5:00–7:30 PM. We also get into a new budgeting tactic we’re trying this month (after realizing our spending had gotten a little too YOLO), Tate’s Bunnies & Buddies recap (spoiler: she was not interested in the bunnies), and whether “Where’s Jessica?” is actually the toddler hack everyone says it is (+ some more paci and sleep updates, of course). Oh, and we officially walk back our original take on play kitchens. Then the fun stuff: Harrison’s thoughts on the Summer House drama (our new Bravo correspondent hahaha), Bethenny Frankel’s takes, when you actually need to stop swearing in front of your kids, a boys trip debate, and us planning Easter brunch in real time. Parent friends, postpartum planning for baby #2 & where’s Jessica?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking parent friends (because there really is something so nice about having people in the exact same season of life as you), and how we’re starting to think through postpartum planning for baby #2 (think family visits, meal prep, time off, etc. and all the little logistics we probably should have done by now but… SECOND BABY!).  We also get into our Easter weekend plans, the surprisingly effective tip helping us wean Tate off the pacifier, and whether “Where’s Jessica?!” is actually the toddler tantrum hack of the century (HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD OF THIS?!).  Plus, Harrison recaps his HYROX race strategy, we debate whether sharing your fitness goals out loud is motivating or mildly embarrassing, and recap Tate’s Mommy & Me Dance + Tea (which was extremely cute, obviously, and for SUCH a good cause). Then we get into a little sourdough update, Bicker of the Week on when it’s acceptable to drop out of a group trip, and our latest TV thoughts on Paradise (THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE REC!). Toddler tantrums, pacifier weaning & when should dad stop traveling before birth?

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re in the middle of some BIG transitions over here… including officially saying goodbye to the pacifier (BEBE) 😭 We get into how it’s going, whether we’ve now entered the full-blown tantrum era, and all the little ways toddlerhood keeps you humble (daily). We also talk about a question that is VERY relevant right now: when should dad actually stop traveling before birth? (s/o to the person who compared Harrison’s HYROX race to Scottie Scheffler withdrawing from the Houston Open because unfortunately that did send us.) We also get into how to know when your baby has dropped (hand between b00bs and your belly), whether you can tell who your baby looks like from an ultrasound (we think he looks like Tate????), and why pregnancy makes your hair and nails grow like crazy. Plus, our reality TV break (obviously), including Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, Southern Charm, and SLOMW, before somehow ending up in a full Hannah Montana / child star comeback tangent (+ Harrison’s childhood celeb crush lol). Then we get into whether United’s new “Relax Row” is actually genius or completely ridiculous, the worst types of dads in the delivery room according to an L&D nurse, and genius tips for introducing toddlers to newborns without jealousy (taking notes for ourselves). Sibling introductions, play kitchen vs. toddler tower & is it OK to parent someone else’s kid?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, the countdown continues… we are officially less than a month away from baby #2 and it’s pretty much all we can think (and talk) about right now… (so SORRY in advance 😭 but iykyk) We get into how we’re actually preparing for this transition — from how we’re thinking about introducing our toddler to the baby, to what we’ve heard works (and what feels slightly questionable), and why this feels like one of those moments you can’t fully prepare for but will absolutely overthink anyway (ex: this entire episode hahahah) We bring some debates from the comments to the pod: (1) play kitchen vs. toddler tower… aka fake cooking vs. real cooking… is pretend cooking actually MORE beneficial than cooking IRL?! And (2) another parenting gray area — is it ever OK to parent someone else’s kid, or is that totally off limits? (Not that gray to us… but you guys in the comments are very split on this 👀) Outside of that, this episode goes everywhere in the best way as always. Harrison casually reveals he signed up for a HYROX race without telling me, we spiral on the concept of people getting LA Marathon medals at 18 miles, and debate some VERY important life questions (the MOST important lol) like whether you can bring a baby to a movie theater… and if a Subway footlong is acceptable airplane food. We also share a house update (our pool got approved!!!), and finally, a humbling realization from this week: we do NOT have green thumbs 🌱 LOVE YOU GUYS. Thanks for listening!!! Last month of pregnancy, Easy Bake Ovens & how much a toddler ER visit ACTUALLY costs

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re officially in the last month of pregnancy (HOW did that happen?!) and yes I was emotional Monday about transitioning from a family of 3 to 4… and I’m even more emotional now (sorry HORMONES). We talk about what this transition actually feels like, how we’re trying to soak up this final stretch before baby #2 arrives, and a concept I’ve been hearing a lot lately: the “last of the firsts.” We also share some toddler “spring break” ideas that have been keeping us entertained this week. Then we get into a few real-life updates: where things stand with hit-and-run gate, our current family car situation (and thoughts on the Wagoneer), and wrapping up the buckle fracture saga - how we navigated a toddler in a splint for 3 weeks and what we learned from the experience, including a breakdown of what a trip to the ER ACTUALLY costs. We’re also apparently “pop culture-ists” now (as Harrison calls it): Oscars takes, Kate Hudson’s family tree, and our (read: Harrison’s) latest Southern Charm thoughts. We wrap with a conversation on screen time for toddlers (different perspectives) and Bicker of the Week: communication styles around cleaning - because apparently “clean” means very different things depending on who you ask. LOVE YOU GUYS. Thanks for listening!!! Hit-and-run, mom vs. dad clean & is golfing too much a red flag?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, someone hit our PARKED car and drove off… which quickly turned our neighborhood into a full-blown detective operation. Ring cameras were reviewed, theories were formed, and the neighborhood group chat is working overtime trying to figure out WHO hit the car. Before we get there, we talk about the emotional side of preparing for baby #2 — including the weird “grief” mom’s experience going from one kid to two — and when toddlers ACTUALLY understand there’s a baby in mom’s belly. We also debate whether you should FaceTime your toddler while traveling or if it actually makes things worse, plus the classic travel dilemma: wait out a flight delay or just start driving. Then we get into some cultural debates: are men welcome at pilates, and is “plays too much golf” actually a relationship red flag? We also recap Harrison’s birthday and share a quick house update, plus a pro tip we learned after the hit-and-run: experts recommend replacing your car seat after an accident (+ the important step of marking the old one as CRASHED before disposing of it so it doesn’t get reused).  We wrap with Bicker of the Week: mom clean vs. dad clean (very different standards), the first time someone is mean to your kid, whether reality TV makes people more dramatic, the weird way AI seems designed to flatter us… and the family bathroom debate continues. OH and Burger King called us back!!!  LOVE YOU GUYS. Thanks for listening!!! Harrison’s birthday, new screen time rules & family trips to Disney

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast we’re celebrating Harrison’s BIRTHDAY (with a gift reveal on camera!!), debating a tiny relationship lie that has the internet divided (it involves key lime pie lol), and talking about a parenting question we genuinely didn’t know the answer to: what bathroom should girl dads take their daughters to in public?!  We get into the new screen time guidelines for kids from the American Academy of Pediatrics and why the conversation around screens is shifting from “how much” to “how and why” (+ the new DESSERT analogy we love). Plus: Harrison’s getting in shape before baby boy arrives (+ his new focus on sleep), we officially started our sourdough era, and we’ve got THE SUIT that Harrison plans to wear when he brings baby boy home from the hospital. Later in the episode we talk about a neighborhood school Q&A that made us really excited about the future, whether travel actually helps toddlers hit developmental milestones (spoiler alert: IT DOES!!!), and something we saw that we think is really cool: Costco helping make IVF treatment more affordable for families. Finally, we answer a listener question for Dr. Ari about introducing allergens when a parent has allergies. LOVE YOU GUYS. Flying with kids, toddler leashes & crop tops while pregnant

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast we start with an underrated friendship milestone from Sunday night: the friends you can sit in silence with. The ones you can cook dinner with, hang out with, and not feel the need to fill every moment with conversation. Then we recap Jules turning 30 (!!) in New York — including a pro-tip on how to pull off a surprise and a dinner rec that’s AMAZING for big groups. Next we get into one of the funniest internet moments currently taking over our FYPs: burger CEOs going to war on TikTok — and why some brands understand internet culture way better than others. (Yes… we actually called Burger King live on the pod hahaha) From there we talk parenting: handling toddler night wakings, how Harrison has built such a strong bond with Bubs, why we personally won’t use a child safety tether (fancy way to say leash lol), and the mindset shift that’s changed how we think about time with our kids (hint: stop trying to “pass the time”). After our latest flight, we also share our best screen-free tips for flying with a toddler. And we end with a debate: maternity clothes vs sizing up normal clothes — plus the comment section question of the week… are crop tops while pregnant acceptable or not? LOVE YOU GUYS. The 411 on Toddler Nutrition & Eating: Starting Solids, Allergies & Picky Eaters (w/ Dr. Ari Brown)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re back with pediatrician Dr. Ari Brown for the ultimate 411 on toddler nutrition and eating habits—from starting solids at 6 months to navigating picky eating without turning dinner into a power struggle. We break down why “food before 1 is just for fun” isn’t actually true, the best first foods to introduce (it’s NOT what you think!), and the biggest choking hazards parents need to watch for—plus how to tell gagging vs. choking in the moment. Dr. Ari also walks us through allergy basics (when to intro + what reactions actually look like), when to ditch the bottle, what a normal toddler day of eating really looks like, and how to think about macros (or honestly… not think about them too much—if your child eats a variety of foods over the week, they’re probably doing just fine). Then we get into the things parents are constantly worrying about: sugar before 2, red dye, ultra-processed “kid foods,” and why toddlers randomly reject foods they used to love. Finally, we cover picky eating red flags, “safety foods,” and the #1 mealtime mistake that actually makes picky eating worse. Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! (feat. There’s two types of people… (and we’re the type that CAN’T change our own flat tire)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re audio only (SORRY, but that’s IRL recording, baby. PS we saw your feedback (THANK YOU!!!) and we’re gonna try this for a few weeks before regrouping). ANYWAYS — we’re starting with a relationship milestone nobody talks about: the first time you see your partner truly sick. It turns out it teaches you just as much about a relationship as your first vacation together… maybe more. From there, we get into the modern logistics of adult life, including the “phone call slot” problem (miss it and you’re benched for the day) and the realization that a shocking number of adults (*cough cough* US) don’t know how to change a tire, write a check, or address an envelope. That naturally leads us into how fast AI is moving, how jobs are shifting in real time (important note: AI still cannot change a tire), and what all of this actually means for people trying to build careers right now. Then we share our top three tips for throwing a baby sprinkle that people will actually enjoy, look ahead to Expo West with a toddler (and why bringing a grandparent as backup is elite strategy), and share that we’ve OFFICIALLY narrowed baby boy names down to four. Then come the debates. Self-checkout tipping… are we doing this now or not? Expiration dates - law or just vibes? (we HAD to get Harrison’s “expert” opinion). And can you ACTUALLY trust Google reviews?! JULES FILLS IN FOR HARRISON!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, you get Two Parents for about 10 minutes… and then Jules takes over for Harrison. So for everyone who’s been asking in the comments for more Jules: this one’s for you (hi, mom). (ps. I still will not be going on camera. Don’t push it guys lol -Jules) Before the handoff, we cover a LOT. Pregnancy sickness recovery being wildly unfair, whether we’re accidentally becoming sourdough people (apparently like Taylor Swift?!), and what it’s like doing Expo West with a toddler in tow. We share a Bubber buckle fracture update, a hard parenting rule we learned the hard way (never skip snack time), and get into glucose intolerance… plus the surprising internet consensus that sourdough might actually help?? From there, we talk neighborhood social committees, joining a junior professionals board, and then we officially made it past all the things we had planned to talk about that I could do without Harrison - cue Jules stepping in (being thrust in…). OK we covered - secret “single behaviors” we all do, whether bricking your phone ACTUALLY works, Millennials vs. Gen Z (Jules does, in fact, call Alex cheugy), and the importance of the group text. We also discover you can apparently petition to bring back discontinued flight paths (??), play a round of Two Truths & a Lie (two truths… Jules can’t lie), and have a very real moment about how fast kids grow up. Things We DMed takes a turn with a headline that stopped us in our tracks: a baby born from a womb transplant from a deceased donor — and the bigger ethical conversation that followed. Then it’s Bicker of the Week (expiration dates: law or loose suggestion?), a practical baby #2 conversation about needing a bigger car, why the naughty corner doesn’t actually work the way we think it does. We wrap with a quick note that we are hiring (kind of) — but if you DM us, you’re automatically disqualified. LOVE YOU GUYS. Our BABYMOON in Miami

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re recapping our BABYMOON in Miami… which did NOT go exactly as planned (read: food poisoning + a hospital visit) — but somehow we still had the best time!! 🤍 We start with the biggest surprise of the trip: Miami Beach being way more family-friendly than we expected (aka we’re already picturing trips with BUBBER and the new little guy). The first day and a half were AMAZING… and then things took a sharp turn. We break down the food poisoning saga, whether it hits harder when you’re pregnant, and the aftermath that involved the BRAT diet, a cold/dark room, and accepting that sometimes your body just decides you’re done for the day (all while Harrison casually coded an app???). From there, we spiral (as we do) into all the debates we had on the trip: is automatic gratuity fair?!, whether Miami prices are actually unhinged orrrr if we’re just being dramatic, and the eternal question — is it ever OK to save pool chairs at a hotel? (Please weigh in.) And OF COURSE, we share our favorite parts of the babymoon — because we’d ABSOLUTELY recommend it if you’re planning one. (But we need to say… sorry in advance if we did a little too much complaining this episode lol). Monday morning brought our first-ever trip to the ER as parents. We share what that experience was like and the #1 thing we learned. We wrap Things We DMed Each Other with Pints & Ponytails (aka Girl Dad Bootcamp), talk about why kids unwind completely differently than adults, and close out with Harrison’s thoughts on the USA vs. Canada hockey game (I got so many messages about this). LOVE YOU GUYS. Thanks for listening Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome Back to Two Parents & A Podcast 00:01:45 Miami Beach is way more FAMILY-FRIENDLY than expected 00:05:36 Food poisoning in Miami?! 00:19:29 Is food poisoning worse when you’re pregnant?! 00:21:59 The after math of the hospital trip (BRAT diet + downtime) 00:31:05 Is automatic gratuity in restaurants fair to customers?! 00:34:27 Prices in Miami are UNHINGED 00:43:21 Is it OK to save pool chairs at a hotel?! 00:49:00 Our FAVORITE part of the babymoon 00:55:24 The first time your child goes to the ER.. Failed glucose test, baby boy nicknames & where does girl scout cookie money ACTUALLY go?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re getting ready to BABYMOON. If you’re watching this, we’re on the beach right now (yay) trying to figure out what you even call a babymoon for baby number two (because “babymoon” feels… aggressive). Sprinkle? Second moon? TBD. Either way, we recorded this episode right before heading out and immediately spiraled. We start with trip planning debates, pregnancy food rules (can you eat beef carpaccio while pregnant?), and the age-old question of what actually matters more at a restaurant: the food or the vibe.  Then we get into the big one: failing the one-hour glucose test. What it means, what it doesn’t, what comes next, and why it’s way less dramatic than it sounds but still mentally jarring when you get the call. From there, we talk about ear piercing timing, leg shaving & making the bed. Mid-episode we cover Valentine’s Day, the jewelry-box-at-dinner move, whether we regret buying so much pink before having a boy, and the very real struggle of finding a nickname for baby boy that YOU GUYS like. Travel etiquette becomes a full debate (as always): reclining seats, switching seats for families, and whether you’re ever obligated to move on a plane. We also get into babysitter etiquette (if you say “help yourself to anything,” do you actually mean anything?), and then unpack the viral Girl Scout story where one girl sold $450k worth of cookies… and where that money really goes. We wrap with a Bicker of the Week, two Things We DMed Each Other (Olympics + Waymo obv), and a parenting takeaway that stuck with us all week: tell kids what TO do, not just what NOT to do. LOVE YOU GUYS. Thanks for listening!!!  Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:04:50 Is there a better name for the second babymoon? 00:07:45 Can you eat beef carpaccio while pregnant? 00:12:42 What matters more: the food or the vibe? 00:15:32 What’s the best made-in-Canada company?! 00:18:18 Dads’ night out 00:19:48 Failed glucose test… now what? 00:27:58 When should kids get their ears pierced? 00:31:22 Fine dining: worth it or overrated? 00:34:33 Asking parents with grown kids: what would you do differently? 00:36:47 The jewelry box at dinner move 00:38:42 Do we regret buying so much pink before having a boy? 00:42:30 We need a new nickname for baby boy 00:43:51 Airplane etiquette: is it okay to recline? 00:47:37 Seat switching on planes: are you obligated to move for families? 00:55:17 Babysitter etiquette: if you say “help yourself to anything,” do you ACTUALLY mean anything? 00:59:48 Girl Scout goes viral for selling $450k worth of cookies… BUT where does the money actually go? 01:04:18 BICKER OF THE WEEK: Is it OK to eat on the couch?! 01:08:24 THINGS WE DMED EACHOTHER: Norway is dominating the Olympics (and their youth sports rules are the opposite of ours) 01:13:25 THINGS WE DMED EACHOTHER: DoorDash drivers are getting paid to close Waymo doors?? 01:16:09 THIS WEEK WE LEARNED: tell kids what TO do (not what NOT to do) 01:17:37 LOVE YOU GUYS! #twoparentsandapod --- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Merit: Right now, Merit Beauty is offering our listeners their Signature Makeup Bag with your first order at https://www.meritbeauty.com *Edmunds: Checking your car’s value is an easy win to cross off your to do list. Q&A: Hospital bag must-haves, sibling introductions & investment accounts for kids

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re answering YOUR questions - but fair warning: we had a lot to say (40 mins worth) before we got there. In our defense: shampoo recs, steak temperatures, and daddy/daughter dances felt important at the time (LOL).  OK SO FIRST… We talk about 5AM toddler mornings (is this a phase?!), using ChatGPT to survive your inbox, and the very unexpected realization that if you have a nut allergy… you might want to check your shampoo ingredients. We also debate 2-in-1 shampoo (dealbreaker or fine?), and Harrison pitches his “best worst idea of the week”: Tinder… but for streaming services. From there, we get into pregnancy things no one warns you about - including dental issues during pregnancy (are dentists still running the biggest scam in America?! IYKYK) - and why dads showing up to “mommy & me” classes might actually be one of our favorite cultural shifts. We talk daddy/daughter dances, the #1 toddler birthday party idea that parents will actually enjoy, and why themed dinner parties deserve a comeback. Then we spiral into food takes (you can’t order burgers medium-rare in Canada?!), whether sending food back is ever worth it, and finally dive into your Q&A questions: should a new baby bring a “gift” for their sibling, what really matters when choosing an OBGYN, what to prepare for before labor, and what actually belongs in a hospital bag - including the one item I would never, ever skip. We also talk about what we’re most excited for with a baby boy, whether there’s a “best” season to be pregnant, and if we’re planning to open investment accounts for the kids. We wrap with a comment section debate that got people fired up (apparently ppl are really pro-spanking???) and a Bicker of the Week about wearing your partner’s clothes before they do (which OF COURSE is fine IF they are pregnant lol).  LOVE YOU GUYS. Toddler morning routine, baby names we WON’T use & is going off registry rude?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we might have cracked the code on toddler mornings… and it’s not waking up earlier. We’re talking 5am wakeups, third-trimester exhaustion, and the mindset shift that completely changed how we handle that first hour of the day. Instead of surviving it, we’re cooking through it. Eggs, repetition, more eggs, toddler “responsibility,” and why letting Tate crack the eggs might actually be the best parenting hack we’ve stumbled into. From there, we rant about the glucose test (there HAS to be a better way), officially put the induction on the calendar, and share baby names we LOVE but WON’T be using (and why naming a second kid feels wildly harder?? Idk we just need to see the baby). We spiral (naturally) into the Valentine’s Day debate: when someone says “no gifts”… do they actually mean it? Then get into our low-spend month competition with the neighbors (now accepting votes for who you think might win… spoiler alert: it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be me), what I’m NOT buying this month but really want to, and then talk about a competition that ACTUALLY matters: the Winter Olympics. Harrison has a rant about why it’s somehow harder than ever to actually watch the Olympics. We also unpack the viral Olympian cheating apology and whether that was romantic… or just ????? Then we hit the comment section: is going off-registry rude? are toddlers sitting on restaurant tables actually a crime? and are “self-driving” cars even self-driving? We wrap with something that genuinely reframed our week: toddlers are hardwired to hit, run, climb, and tantrum. It’s NOT personal. It’s developmental. And how you react might matter more than what they do. LOVE YOU GUYS. Thanks for listening 🤍 Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:04:55 The BEST personalized toddler gift (Maria nailed THIS) 00:06:23 Waking up early with a toddler?! The 411 on Toddler Discipline: Biting, Boundaries & What Actually Works (w/ Dr. Ari Brown)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re back with Dr. Ari Brown - board-certified pediatrician and author of the bestselling 411 series - for The 411 on TODDLER DISCIPLINE. And just like last time, she comes in with the calm, practical answers we all need when our toddlers are… doing the most. We start with the big foundational question: what “discipline” actually means (spoiler: it’s teaching NOT punishment) and when it realistically begins. Dr. Ari breaks down the cues that your toddler is ready to be “taught”, why pushback is developmentally normal, and how consistency matters way more than finding the “perfect” consequence. Then we get into the “IS IT NORMAL?!” greatest hits: biting, hitting, head-banging, and public tantrums - what’s actually going on in their brains, what to do in the moment, and the #1 thing parents should avoid (even though it’s everyone’s instinct). We also talk self-regulation, why toddlers borrow our nervous systems, and the biggest mistake parents make when they start trying to “discipline” for the first time: expecting instant results. We also dig into the classic strategies people always debate - time-outs, spanking, and the “if you don’t do X, we’re taking away Y” approach - and Dr. Ari explains what works, what doesn’t, and why consequences need to be logical to actually teach anything.  PLUS: how behavior can shift with a new sibling (who do you think wrote this question in?!??!), how to avoid the good cop/bad cop dynamic, and rapid-fire audience Qs on meal refusal, toddler resistance (“no” to everything), teaching safety without fear, and why kids go through parent-preference phases. Babymoon plans, joint bachelor/ette parties & should kids make their own bed?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re very much in planning mode - talking babymoon ideas, future parenting rules (we NEED your thoughts on the bed-making debate), and yet another round of nesting. We start with coffee shop talk (yes, the same one we’ve been talking about for the last two weeks), why good habits take forever to build while bad ones take about two days, and the current parent uniform: sweatsuits with mystery stains. From there, it’s full nesting energy (again) - labeling everything (western shorts, IYKYK), debating whether kids are born Type A or if we accidentally make them that way, and getting into the surprisingly divisive question of whether kids should make their own beds (possibly our first real parenting style disagreement live on the pod??). Then we get into technology and boundaries: the no phones in bedrooms rule, what age kids are actually getting phones now, and how we somehow ended up with a landline (yes, really). We celebrate Maria’s one-year anniversary with us, spiral into celebrity power couples, Grammys discourse, Valentine’s Day card exchanges at school, and our ongoing “no gifts” debate. Mid-episode, we start planning our babymoon (US only, no car required - please send help), talk through joint bachelor/bachelorette parties (fun or a hard no?), share our #1 travel hack that immediately lowers stress (with or without kids), and revisit the ongoing dog conversation - why everyone says we should NOT get one yet, and whether we’re secretly a no-pets house… until the day we’re not (I still cannot believe Harrison asked if I’d consider a pet spider). We wrap with mall nostalgia (or lack thereof), a classic Bicker of the Week (pool vs. no pool - IN TEXAS), and a new behavioral tactic we’ll keep in mind for those future meltdowns: connection before direction. Preschool waitlists, off-registry baby gifts & when do we get a dog?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, you already know the phase we’re in - MORE nesting, third-trimester TIRED, and getting ready for baby #2 while CONTINUALLY realizing how much community matters. We kick things off with a micro-bicker (is this a new thing?!) that isn’t really a REAL debate because we agree (fake flowers vs real flowers), then get into how I’m scheduling rest for “third trimester tired” instead of fighting it. We revisit last week’s Bicker of the Week (drying off in the shower vs on the bath mat), share a weighted vest update (for those who asked in the comments!!), and talk about what phase 2 of nesting mode looks like when you’re about to have two-under-two (spoiler: toddler-proofing everything). From there, I share my battle-tested opinions on baby shower gifts you should buy that are NOT on your friend’s registry (plus two bonus picks from Harrison that are genuinely top notch). And like speaking of buying things off of registries… we spiral about why every single store now needs your phone number just to let you check out (hard pass). Then we give an update that kicked off a bigger conversation - Tate officially got off a preschool waitlist I put her on at three months old (WOAH), which leads into a conversation about community, the people you surround yourself with, and why that matters more than ever right now. And yes, your village can include DOGS… when it makes sense to add one with kids, what we’re actually considering, and why this question suddenly feels very real. We wrap with a new Bicker of the Week (is it ever okay to talk to your partner once they’ve fallen asleep?) and a really sweet Things We DMed about celebrating other kids’ wins - the kind of reminder that makes you appreciate your village (even if it’s just the folks on the sidelines!!) LOVE YOU GUYS. Boy vs. girl pregnancies, snow days & your family’s made-up language

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking about a little bit of everything. We start with Austin’s first real snow day (at least since we’ve lived here lol) and how snow days feel wildly different as a kid vs. as a parent. We talk Dry January, whether it’s rude to ask someone why they don’t drink, and a truly wild babysitting story involving lime-a-ritas (the liability alone???). Then it’s parenting and pregnancy updates: how every family develops its own language (how Tate became “BUBBERS”), why we’re capping naps at 16 months, the “unzipping the sleep sack” phase, what’s helped vs. not helped with pregnancy restless leg, and the differences between boy vs. girl pregnancies (cravings, skin, fatigue, emotions, pregnancy brain). We wrap with the fun stuff as always: Harrison’s cookbook era, a great welcome-to-the-neighborhood gift idea, our ongoing couch and dining table saga, Dad’s first attempt at pigtails, Bicker of the Week, and two Things We DMed Each Other that left us speechless. LOVE YOU GUYS. Night nurses, gym drama & throwing iPads out the window

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, it’s one of those episodes where nothing is technically related… and yet somehow it all is. Very Friday energy (but HAPPY MONDAY!!!). We kick things off with Tate entering her unzipping era (a big-girl milestone no one prepares you for!!!) and come to terms with the fact that we’ve officially become the parents we SWORE we’d never be (hahahaha). We have another SHOW REC (is this our new thing???) - His & Hers.. Then react to Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s take on Netflix and filmmaking (I think we agree?? I mean we are to the point that Harrison bought a phone lock box sooooo). Then it’s toddler parent life as usual: discovering that “tractor wheels” are apparently a food, relying on DoorDash as a legitimate parenting strategy, and settling a cohabitating Bicker of the Week we didn’t know we felt so strongly about (do you dry off IN the shower or ON the bath mat??). Mid-episode chaos includes gym drama involving a smoothie bar heist (and learning about Harrison’s fascination with bank robberies?!), home updates (haunted light, breakfast nook plans, and our couch ordered on vibes alone), and a very real debate about whether Dad gets any say in nursery design. We also talk through our night nurse plan for baby #2 — why we’re doing it again and what we learned the first time around. We close with Tate discovering SHOPPPING (hello sparkly cowboy boots), why buying kids clothes for their “future age” is a scam, a viral moment where a mom throws an iPad out the car window (we have thoughts), an alarm clock that charges you to snooze, and the comment section absolutely lighting us up over the word “de-thaw” (WOOPS).  LOVE YOU GUYS!  Timestamps:  00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:05:18 Tate’s latest “big girl” milestone: the “unzipping” phase  00:07:22 We’ve officially become the parents we SWORE we’d never be 00:10:21 Show rec: His & Hers 00:11:16 Matt Damon + Ben Affleck on Netflix “ruining” movies (kinda true?) 00:13:22 Our continued war against Apple products (phone box, middle of he night Apple Watch)  00:17:45 PSA: “tractor wheels” are apparently actually a top-tier toddler food 00:19:00 Our Friday night parenting hack: DoorDash 00:21:40 Bicker of the Week: dry off IN the shower or ON the bath mat? 00:23:34 Gym chaos: the smoothie bar heist 00:30:46 Home updates: haunted light, breakfast nook plans & the new couch 00:41:13 Hot take: does Dad get a vote on nursery design?! 00:46:11 Our night nurse plan (and why we’re doing it again) 00:51:35 Why you should stop buying “future size” kids clothes  00:53:07 Toddler shopping: Tate picked her own sparkly cowboy boots 00:56:31 Things We DMed Each Other: Mom throws iPad out the car window 00:59:36 Things We DMed Each Other: Alarm clock that charges $10 to snooze 01:01:50 From the comments: “de-thaw” is not a word (apparently) 01:03:04 LOVE YOU GUYS! #twoparentsandapod --------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Merit Beauty: Right now, Merit Beauty is offering our listeners their Signature Makeup Bag with your first order at https://www.meritbeauty.com *Doordash: Parenting can be chaotic, unpredictable, and complicated. Transitioning from 1-to-2 kids, mommy & me dance class & admin nights

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re deep in the 1-to-2 kid transition and debating the question everyone has opinions on: is the biggest life shift going from 0–1 kids, 1–2 kids, or 2+ kids? We get into what actually feels different this time around, what we weirdly care less about, and why confidence the second time somehow still leads to reorganizing half the house (yes sorry we’re still on this topic - WE HAVE UPDATES!)  We kick things off with a mommy & me dance class announcement (MELT), argue (bicker but not bicker of the week) about the best Olympic sport, and Harrison makes a strong case for why cookbooks deserve a comeback in 2026 (I feel like I’m still good with google???). Then we get into life with a 16-month-old who has officially become a food critic, the one grocery item we cannot keep stocked, and the recipes currently saving us (ps. COMMENT: Toddler friendly recipes - we are still ISO new ones to try please!!!!).  From there, we explain why we’re ACTUALLY changing the kids’ rooms (I guess we never told you guys lol), recap Tate’s first night in her big girl room (shockingly smooth), and share what we’re buying for the playroom (plus the one thing we’re absolutely SKIPPING).  We also spiral into learning that moms can apparently catch their own babies (hard no for me), admit we’ve changed our minds on a former “must-have” product, and confirm that toddlers humble you daily (in general lol).  Naturally, we end with the important stuff: whether Zoom calls at coffee shops are socially acceptable, if treadmill miles count as real miles (will this be the new listening vs. reading??), why patterned couches might be an elite parenting hack, and whether admin nights are the future of adult friendships. Plus: mahjong with mom friends - and absolute MUST.  LOVE YOU GUYS (thank you for listening!!!!!) Dads delivering babies, flipping a breech baby & our 6-minute bedtime routine

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast — we have a LOT of baby #2 updates after our third-trimester OB appointment. Things escalated quickly and apparently Harrison is now delivering the baby??? (Our doctor casually suggested that dads can deliver the second baby (???) and we’re still unpacking that), plus we talk through the breech situation (Harrison keeps calling it “THE BREACH” like a contract hahahah) and why I’m choosing NOT to do anything to flip him. From there, we get into what feels different the second time around — the things we obsessed over with our first baby that we truly do not care about anymore — and why that confidence immediately turned into redesigning half the house. We share nursery plans, the guest-room shuffle, and the logistical chaos of prepping for baby #2 while still very much parenting a toddler. Then Harrison explains why he’s officially OUT on Waymo (parking lot purgatory + surprise “voice of god” moments), and we spiral into Austin’s most unhinged design choice: back-in angle parking (with a bike lane in between, obviously). We also confirm that every couple has a driver — and yes, we know exactly who ours is (spoiler alert: NOT Harrison).  We revisit the audiobooks vs. reading debate (we decided every can participate in book club but Jules has to wear a scarlett letter on her chest), share a nonstick-pan update (turns out “full blast heat” was the problem), and take a nostalgic detour back to 2016 (where were you and why does it suddenly feel iconic?). Plus, we talk about marrying into a marathon family (I’ll watch) and the moment everyone has been waiting for… we break down our 6-minute bedtime routine!!!  And in Things We DMed Each Other: the world’s first “accurate” breastfeeding monitor (do we need this??), a phone-disguising gadget meant to keep babies’ worlds screen-free, and baby sign language — aka how one tiny “more” hand sign changed our entire mealtime experience :)  LOVE YOU GUYS — thanks for listening!! Nesting, first dates & do audiobooks count as reading?

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast — we are DEEP in nesting mode (like… vacuuming-baseboards level nesting) and officially debating whether audiobooks “count” as reading (jury is still out (kind of) PLEASE settle this debate in the comments). We kick things off with a Bring It On reference (is that anyone else’s FAVORITE movie??). Then we debunk the “gum stays in your stomach for 7 years” myth (plot twist: it does NOT), revisit our gift-returning etiquette as a couple, and activate full “dad mode” with Harrison’s Apple Watch + AirPods case + phone-wallet combo (peak suburban father energy). Then we get into reflecting on our toddler communication ep — pointing, signing, and how much Tate actually understands — plus what to ask when you’re interviewing childcare providers. We also finally finished Heated Rivalry (!!!), immediately disagreed on the best episode with Jules (she says we’re basic), and then spiraled into this week’s Bicker of the Week: Do audiobooks count as reading or no?!  Alex gives a mini Mean Moms book review (and the fictional-defamation drama behind it), we celebrate podcasts arriving at the Golden Globes, and we taste-test Flock’s new Chicken Stick (Alex’s first time live on the pod!!!). Plus — a pregnancy update (the naps are napping), house-project brainstorming, girls’ brunch surprises, Venmo-privacy etiquette, our toddler’s alarming berry budget, and a viral list of places women REFUSE to go on a first date (Waffle House slander will not be tolerated). The 411 on Toddler Communication: Milestones, Red Flags & Tips (w/ Dr. Ari Brown)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re joined again by Dr. Ari Brown — board-certified pediatrician and author of the bestselling 411 series — for a conversation all about toddler talking and communication. You guys loved her last episode, and we’re so excited to officially bring her on as a RECURRING GUEST once a month!! Dr. Ari breaks down what toddlers actually understand before they can talk (spoiler: a lot), what counts as a real “word,” and the core language milestones between 12–24 months. We get into receptive vs. expressive language, nonverbal communication, and the difference between “they don’t understand me” and “they’re choosing not to listen,” which… hits home. We also cover the big “is this normal?” questions — pointing and waving, only repeating you, not responding to their name, mixing languages — and when it’s worth checking in with your pediatrician. Dr. Ari explains why early intervention leads to the best outcomes, and gives simple tools parents can use at home (talk time, books, songs, naming emotions, and turning off our own screens). And because communication and behavior are so connected, we talk through the toddler frustration cycle — the pointing, the grunting, the meltdowns, the boneless moments — and how to help kids feel seen and understood even before they have the words. We’ll go deeper on discipline NEXT MONTH, but this episode gives the foundation every parent needs to understand what’s happening in that little toddler brain!! This week on Two Parents & A Podcast — we’re back in ATX and easing into 2026 (our christmas decorations are still up). We kick it off by talking about why traveling with friends (especially with kids) is the ultimate compatibility test, how wild it is that a one-year-old can actually ski (like WHAT), and why our current neighborhood setup feels like college (in the best way!!!).  Then we get into the thing everyone keeps asking: our childcare plan for baby #2. We talk about Maria’s mom (Peggy!! our angel), how the cross-house setup actually works, and what we’re looking forward to most with this set up!   Then we spiral into airline-mile skepticism, childhood “world-class” foods that absolutely do not hold up, and our early thoughts on Heated Rivalry (NOTE FROM JULES: it’s 9pm wednesday night and they’ve texted me that they’ve already changed their minds). Alex explains her beef with dramatic New Year’s resolutions, and Harrison shares the four phone-reduction rules he’s committing to in 2026 — no phone before 8am, no phone at dinner, no phone in the bathroom, and no doom-scrolling in bed. We also talk couples who work out together, our current coffee-order identity crisis, babysitter etiquette (and the horror stories you sent in), “technoference” and how parental phone habits affect toddlers, Illinois’ new paid pumping-break law, and whether caviar really is “breast milk for adults”????  LOVE YOU GUYS and thanks for listening! This week on Two Parents & A Podcast — it’s the FIRST EPISODE OF 2026!! (Happy New Year!!!) And we’re kicking things off with a little Q&A (answering all of YOUR questions!!). Our vibe going into 2026, Montana recap & babymoon plans

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast — HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! 🎉 We kick off the episode by talking about where our heads are at going into the new year (I call it the new year vibe lol) and what it looks like for us to mentally (and logistically) prepare for TWO UNDER TWO. Energy is finally coming back, priorities are shifting, and we’re very much in “get our lives dialed” mode before baby #2 arrives. We recap our Montana trip (snow, dog sledding, cozy winter magic) and talk about traveling with a toddler, including a screen-free airplane hack that surprised us (for $19.99!!!!). We also get into a screen time “in the wild” discussion and the debate ongoing question of whether vacation is for meeting new friends… or fully opting out. Then we get into Harrison’s (and Jules’) ChatGPT Wrapped (it knows us a little too well), rank international airlines, learn there’s now an airline for dogs (??), and share our top internet moment, show, and movie of 2025. In Things We DMed Each Other, we talk about: (1) A study showing Friday family rituals can cut teen anxiety by 40% (adults too!). (2) A dad who goes viral for “crying back” to get his kid to stop crying (it works!). And (3) The most happiest corner of the internet: kids reacting to surprise gifts (link below, you’ve been warned). We wrap with a classic Bicker of the Week about bar seating etiquette, our Whistler food recommendations, and a proper New Year’s send-off!!  LOVE YOU GUYS and cheers to 2026 :)  Things We DMed video (kids reacting to surprise gifts): https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTrTBA5v7/ Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:00:55 iPhone vs. “real” camera: why does the iPhone win?! 00:02:44 Our vibe going into 2026  00:07:40 We’re planning a babymoon! 00:11:26 Should we redo our studio?! 00:12:48 Our Montana trip recap (dog sledding + other the activities) 00:13:52 Genius toddler travel hack + screen time convo 00:19:58 Meeting friends while you travel 00:24:48 ChatGPT Wrapped 00:27:54 Best international airlines (+ an airline for dogs?!) 00:36:25 ChatGPT Wrapped cont.  00:39:07 Top internet moment of 2025 00:40:12 Top show of 2025 00:40:47 Top movie of 2025 00:42:26 Things We DMed Each Other: Friday rituals cut anxiety by 40% 00:46:16 Things We DMed Each Other: Dad “cries back” to stop kid crying 00:47:29 Things We DMed Each Other: Surprise gift reactions that made us cry 00:49:17 Things I Learned This Week: Choline in pregnancy = smarter babies? 00:50:37 Bicker of the Week: Two “singles” vs “party of two” at the bar 00:53:10 Whistler recommendations  00:55:40 Happy New Year!!!!! #twoparentsandapod --------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Nutrafol: Get $10 off your first month’s subscription plus free shipping at https://www.nutrafol.com with code TWOPARENTS. *Aura Frames: $35 off with code TWOPARENTS — shop perfect holiday gifts at https://on.auraframes.com/TWOPARENTS. *Veracity: Make the switch to GLP 1’s the natural way. Fertility Specialist: Understanding female & male fertility, when to get help & how treatments work (with Dr. Lucky)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re joined by Dr. Lucky Sekhon — board-certified OB-GYN and fertility doctor— to break down fertility in a way that’s clear, calm, and actually helpful.  We start with the true fertility basics: what you need to know, what tests actually matter, when you should start thinking about fertility before trying, and the biggest myths she wishes would disappear — including the idea that fertility is only a “woman’s problem.”  This episode is heavily audience Q&A–driven, covering the most common causes of infertility (for women and men), why infertility feels more and more common, the “fertility cliff” after 30 (it’s not as steep as you’re made to think!), secondary infertility, and how long to try naturally before seeking help. We close with a walkthrough of treatment options (IUI vs. IVF), thoughts on hormonal birth control and fertility, and how friends and family can truly support someone going through infertility or loss.  If you want real context and less panic, this one’s for you. Also - check out Dr. Lucky’s book, The Lucky Egg: Understanding Your Fertility & How to Get Pregnant NOW, coming out January 13th!  Timestamps:  00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast!  00:00:29 Introduction to Dr. Lucky Sekhon 00:04:15 If someone wants to understand their fertility, what are the first basic things they should know and tests or checks that actually matter? 00:12:38 How early should people start thinking about their fertility before they want to start a family? 00:15:50 What’s the biggest fertility myth you wish people would stop believing? 00:17:38 Men are 50% of the equation — what should they understand about their fertility? 00:20:28 What should men do to prepare their bodies when trying to conceive? 00:22:50 What are common habits men do that could be hurting their sperm health? 00:26:55 Audience Question: What are the most common causes of infertility in women? In men? 00:29:49 Audience Question: Why does it seem like so many people in their 20s and 30s are dealing with infertility today? 00:33:27 Audience Question: After 30 is there really a steep fertility cliff? 00:38:57 Audience Question: What is the fertility “cost” of waiting a little longer? 00:40:58 Audience Question: Can you explain secondary infertility? 00:43:48 Audience Question: How long should people try naturally before seeking help? 00:45:20 Audience Question: Thoughts on hormonal birth control pills and how they affect fertility short-term and long-term? 00:50:30 Audience Question: What treatment options are available for women dealing with infertility? 00:58:24 Audience Question: How can friends and family best support couples struggling with infertility or loss? 00:59:53 Thank you for listening!  #twoparentsandapod ----- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Fabletics: Get 80% off everything on Fabletics when you sign up as a VIP at https://www.fabletics.com/TWOPARENTS. *Magnetic Me: Make changing time easier for you and your little one with Magnetic Me’s smart magnetic closures. Holiday travel with a toddler, borrowing husbands & should Santa presents be unwrapped?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast – HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE! We kick things off with gift giving convo (because DUH), including the internet weighing in with their opinions on our neighbor gifts and the ONE toddler toy that has truly earned its spot (because ever notice that toddlers seem to prefer household items over toys???). Next, we get into holiday travel with a 1-year-old (new airplane-only toys, long flights, and managing expectations). We also share how we’re spending the next two weeks (RELAXING) before diving into the viral discourse of the week around “borrowing husbands” and the Kroger wife situation (and why helping people in your community should not be controversial). Harrison brings in 1,000 years of relationship advice from the Curiosity Chronicle (do not keep score, never stop dating, and genuinely enjoy each other). Then the fun stuff. We spiral briefly into dental TikTok with a question about blowing on your kid’s food, share a great Austin policy about waived parking tickets for responsible rides home, and talk about when kids develop critical thinking and why Santa works so well (your words become their inner voice). We wrap with a holiday classic debate about whether gifts from Santa should be wrapped (apparently every household does this differently??) and finish with a conversation everyone can agree on: New Year’s is the most overrated holiday. LOVE YOU GUYS and happy holidays. 💛 Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:01:12 Gift giving (love languages, internet opinions on our neighbor gifts, & our top toddler gift) 00:06:24 Why do toddlers prefer household items over toys?!  00:10:25 Traveling for the holidays with a 1-year-old 00:14:25 Is it okay to use your partner’s Netflix profile? 00:16:00 How we’re spending the next two weeks  00:24:40 “Can I borrow your husband?” & the Kroger wife discourse 00:31:37 1,000 years of relationship advice from the Curiosity Chronicle  00:43:05 Can blowing on your kid’s food cause cavities? 00:44:46 Things We DMed Eachother: Austin parking tickets waived for responsible rides home 00:45:48 Things We Learned This Week: When kids develop critical thinking (and why Santa works) 00:48:18 Do you wrap gifts from Santa? 00:53:00 Is New Year’s the most overrated holiday? 00:54:55 LOVE YOU GUYS! #twoparentsandapod --------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Nurture Life: Get 55% off your first order + free shipping at https://www.nurturelife.com/TWOPARENTS with code TWOPARENTS. *Hers: Whether you want to lose weight, grow thicker, fuller hair, or find relief for anxiety, Hers has you covered. Evidence-based parenting decisions: breastfeeding, vaccines & screen time (with Emily Oster)

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re back with Emily Oster (bestselling author, economist, and the data-driven voice behind ParentData.org) this time diving into some of the most common (and most stressful???) early parenting decisions. From breastfeeding and formula to alcohol while nursing, sleep training, childcare, discipline, screen time, and vaccines, Emily explains what’s actually supported by research versus what’s been inflated by guilt, outdated thinking, and internet panic. She breaks down why some benefits are smaller than they’re often made out to be, why rigid “rules” can miss the bigger picture, and why parents deserve clearer context without shame. If you’ve ever questioned the parenting “rules,” this episode offers more context (not more rules) so you can decide what works for your family!!!  Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! Food poisoning, pacifier weaning & dressing up for flights?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast - Wednesday morning was… action-packed, to say the least. Long story short: do NOT recommend getting food poisoning while pregnant. (Long story long: watch the episode.) From there, we recap our Happy Everything Toy Drive from this past weekend (a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came, helped, donated, or sponsored — we’re still blown away!!!). Then we spiral into a bunch of travel topics (ever notice how podcasters love to talk about planes??): balancing work travel and parenting, meeting people IRL at the airport, and a heated debate over whether you should dress up for flights (spoiler alert: NOOO).  Next up: a PSA for dads — you are in charge of mom’s stocking. We break down how to actually make it good (and not an afterthought!!). And we also share 5(ish) creative ideas for weaning off the pacifier. Important note: we haven’t tried these yet — they’re methods we’ve heard work and are about to start figuring out ourselves!!  Finally, in Things We DMed Each Other: positive stats that helped ease working-parent guilt, plus Toyota’s new self-driving pod for kids???  LOVE YOU GUYS!  Timestamps:  00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast!  00:00:41 Food poisoning during pregnancy  00:13:42 Happy Everything Toy Drive recap!  00:15:51 Balancing work travel and parenting  00:17:46 Can you actually find a date at the airport?!  00:25:53 Should you dress up for flights? 00:31:57 Are we wearing fur hoods wrong?! 00:32:41 Our holiday travel plans 00:33:25 Stockings for moms  00:36:22 5 creative ways to wean off the pacifier  00:42:40 Things We DMed Each Other: Positive statistics for kids of working moms 00:45:12 Things We DMed Each Other: Toyota’s self-driving pod for kids 00:50:34 LOVE YOU GUYS!  #twoparentsandapod --------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to our sponsors this week: *Fabletics: Get 80% off everything on Fabletics when you sign up as a VIP at https://www.fabletics.com/TWOPARENTS. *Aura Frames: Aura Frames is the perfect holiday gift. Baby Formula 101: Ingredients to look for & avoid, how it’s regulated & letting go of feeding guilt

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re joined by Laura Modi — co-founder & CEO of Bobbie — to talk through everything parents actually need to know about infant formula, without the fear, guilt, or internet panic. Laura breaks down formula in a way that finally makes sense: what it is, how it’s designed to mimic breast milk, how to read ingredient labels, and which things actually matter (+which ones parents can stop spiraling about). We also get into why formulas that look nearly identical can be priced so differently, whether European formulas are really “better” than U.S. formulas, and why seed oils have become such a hot-button topic in this space. We also talk openly about recalls, safety standards, switching formulas, and the emotional weight that comes with feeding decisions — including the guilt and pressure so many parents experience when breastfeeding doesn’t go as planned or when formula ends up being the right choice for their family (because feeding your baby should not feel like a moral test). If you’ve ever stood in the formula aisle feeling overwhelmed, gone down an ingredient-label rabbit hole, or wondered if you’re “doing it right” (you are) — this episode is here to bring clarity, confidence, and a whole lot of relief (and maybe help you close 17 browser tabs). How your relationship impacts your kids, our first trip away & push presents for dad?!

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking about something we’ve been noticing in real time — how our relationship and everyday behaviors are already rubbing off on Tate. From tone to little habits to how we treat people, she’s absorbing way more than we realized (and we’re sharing what we learned about all of it!!!!). Before that: our first 3-night trip away from Tate (!!) — how it went, what surprised us, and whether toddlers truly can’t tell the difference between 7 minutes and 7 hours??  We also recap a very chaotic week at home: the car getting booted (and the boot mysteriously disappearing), Solidcore-gate taking over our For You Pages, toy drive prep, and more.  In Things We DMed Each Other: 2026 parenting trends — dad push presents (NO!!!!), the end of beige nurseries & low-stimulation play taking over. Plus we learned the REEL story behind why Flappy Bird was deleted (and it’s kind of adorable).  LOVE YOU GUYS ❤️ Ps. Do you have to wait for pan to cool before washing after cooking?!
