I'm Mary Meckley and I welcome you back to our sleep series.'ve been exploring all week long. As you go through this

series I hope you have been enjoying the sleep ritual steps that help you to put together a

nighttime ritual for yourself. This is really important at signaling to your mind and your body that it's time to ease in to sleep.

And I think that what you will find as you create your sleep ritual and start doing it,

you will begin to honor your time more. You may even likely find that as you go throughout your days,

you organize the rest of your day much better.

Because what you do when you set up a sleep ritual,

especially if you do this,

to even one hour before you go to bed at night, a long enough time to really feel as

though you're transitioning into a new rhythm in your day. You will find that your day becomes segmented according to the

rhythms. So in the morning when you wake up you may notice that you begin to create morning activities for your morning routine.

And as you go through the day, you may find that you have a mid-afternoon rhythm where you stop and take some time to take a little

break to slow down to have a cup of tea to meditate for a few minutes to do some yoga or to take a walk.

This is time that's not spent checking text messages or emails or even flipping through a magazine if you still

look at those. That is not the time to do those kinds of more mindless activities.

Your rhythms that you create throughout your day

have to do with intention. Times you set aside

throughout your day to intentionally focus on giving yourself relaxation and peace or productivity for when you're working or

fitness for when you're exercising or nourishment for when you're eating for connection when you're engaged in relationships and for sleep when you're getting
