0:18.1	bigger than itself. For instance, Washington, D.C. isn't just a city. Its name is often invoked to represent
0:26.3	the entirety of national politics in the United States. Or 10 Downing Street, number ten.
0:32.7	It's not just a physical address,
0:34.7	but a representative location of the entire British government.
0:39.2	Wall Street is an actual street that runs
0:41.8	eight blocks long in New York City,
0:44.2	yet it also represents and points to the entire American financial system.
0:49.6	These representative places are technically called metonyms.
0:53.0	There are particular words or places in this case
0:56.3	that point to something beyond, bigger than themselves.
1:00.5	In the Bible, there's a representative place for God's people to look to, and its name is Zion.
1:07.0	Zion is another name for Jerusalem, the city of God.
1:11.0	And while Jerusalem and Zion are names for the same physical place,
1:15.0	scholars point out that Mount Zion is a more religious name for the city,
1:20.0	meant to emphasize the theological truth about God's presence.
1:25.0	Like Washington, D.C. or Ten Downing Street,
1:28.0	Zion is more than just a physical place.
1:32.0	But Zion is different and that it points to the life-changing
