| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the Chris Terrell podcast. My name is Chris Terrell. Thanks so much for being here. |
| 0:16.9 | If you're new here to the podcast, I've lost 125 pounds myself. Took me two and a half years to do it, and now I'm a full-time weight loss coach teaching people like you how to also achieve the weight loss goals and dreams that you have. Last week's episode was super fun. If you didn't check that one out, definitely go back and give that one a listen. The topics that I had prepared for that week I've actually carried forward to today since I |
| 0:38.5 | well had my fun little detour that I took where I had my fun thought experiment as if I could |
| 0:44.6 | go back in time and talk to my old self and I would talk but talk back and forth as my old self |
| 0:49.6 | to my current self anyway it was fun It was interesting for me to do that. |
| 0:54.9 | To kind of think through and verbalize in the first person my old ways of thinking. |
| 1:01.3 | Because normally I just talk about the stuff in the third person perspective, but to say things like in the I statement, that was different. |
| 1:10.1 | But the topic I had last week is one called a not to do list. A lot of people come to me and they're like, tell me what I need to do. Tell me how to lose weight. Tell me how to get the results you got. And then I'll give people the list. And, or sometimes people, they run into a problem. They're like, I don't know how to solve the list. Or how to solve this. I need a list. I need a to-do list. And, and, and, and, and, and, and, and even still sometimes people, they run into a problem. They're like, I don't know how to solve the list or how to solve this. |
| 1:28.1 | I need a list. |
| 1:28.9 | I need a to-do list. |
| 1:46.8 | And, and, but even still, people sometimes just won't even do the to-do list. But when you ever, you're getting confused and you're not sure what to do, one of the things that can be really helpful is to have a not to-do list. A list of things that you know you should not do because doing these things will make sure you don't get what you want. |
| 1:45.3 | So. have a not-to-do list. A list of things that you know you should not do because doing these things will make sure you don't get what you want. So I'm going to talk about this and I'm going to |
| 1:51.7 | it's fun because these are things I don't want you to do. Like if you do these things, |
| 1:56.9 | this is going to result in you not losing weight. And before we jump into the topic, a little bit of housekeeping. If you're not to remember my Facebook group, come join my Facebook group. I'd love to have you there. We've got over 3,000 people. It is a fantastic community with a bunch of wonderful individuals all about weight loss in there, but not the annoying kind of we talk about what kind of foods are you not allowed |
| 2:18.4 | to eat. Tell me which dumb diet you have to do. Now, we talk about the real stuff. Talk about the |
| 2:23.1 | non-scale victories. We talk about what sort of changes we're making within ourselves, how we're |
| 2:28.0 | working on our self-talk. People will share examples of how they cope with their unique |
| 2:31.9 | struggles that they have. And so maybe you'll find someone that's going through a struggle very similar to yours. And maybe you can find some support there from somebody that's in the same boat. And I do live streams in there on Mondays where I come and just give you all a pep talk and say, hey, you guys got this and keep going. And do other events in there as well. Last night, I just did a live stream, hour and a half long event, |
| 2:51.6 | free event for your people to come to, and that was posted in the group. That is still up right now, and you can go into the Facebook group and watch that if you'd like. I'm also doing a seven-day journaling challenge. Now that is going to begin next week, so this announcement is time sensitive. So today is Friday the |
| 3:08.1 | 2nd of September. And we're going to be starting it next week. So if you want to be a part of my journaling challenge in the show notes of the podcast, you will find a link to go ahead and sign up for that. So go ahead and give me your email in there. And I'll send you all the instructions for how to join the Facebook group that we're doing for this challenge and you can come do it with us. |
| 3:26.4 | It'll be a great introduction to journaling if you've not done it and it'll also be a great way to try some new things with journaling that maybe you've not done. All right, without any further ado, let's go ahead and jump to it. So this list I've put together is what I was going to cover last week. |
| 3:41.3 | I've actually got over 30 items on this list. So we're not going to be covering all of those |
