Summary

Your Happiness Equation Is there a magic formula for happiness? Yes. It comes down to how you look at the world. Most folks do one of two things: 1) They view everything from an emotional place. When life is good, everything is excellent. When things go wrong, life is terrible. Remaining stuck in the emotional zone is like writing a letter in the sand with a rising tide; it will never stick around long enough to make you happy. 2) Others view the world from a black-and-white and logical perspective. But life is not always logical. Using your analytical brain for everything is like painting a wall black and expecting a rainbow of colors. I’ve found the best way is to naturally ride the highs and lows of emotions, tap into logic to navigate what crosses our path, and get back to the fun of emotions as soon as possible. Emotion + Logic + Emotion = Happiness. First and foremost, humans are emotional creatures that will not change. But logic allows us to sort through our feelings and make the best decision. How are you? Happy, happy, happy Wednesday. I'm so happy you're here today. And I have to

0:21.0

apologize for my screeching voice. I do it every so often. See this time of year here in Florida,

0:25.8

in the Daytona Beach Port Orange Orlando area. It's kind of on the edge of springtime. That means

0:30.9

the trees and the grasses are doing their thing. They're they're spewing upon us the pollen.

0:35.4

And you're hearing it in my voice right now. It's still chilly, but it's right on the edge of not being

0:41.2

and the next season of Florida shows up hot. All right, today we're going to talk about being happy. Yes,

0:44.8

you can be happy whether it's cold or whether it's hot or anywhere in between. You can be happy.

0:48.9

In fact, I think the number one thing you're here on this planet to do is be happy. How do I know that?

0:53.6

I do a lot of studying. I was talking to smart people. The whole thing. To this degree, we can figure

0:57.7

that stuff out. But here's Scott logic ready for it. This is basic. This is me just looking at the

1:02.1

world and go, okay, wait. So anybody I've ever met my entire life is trying to be happy. Well,

1:09.2

there's a few of those oddballs out there that are not trying to be happy. That's for sure.

1:12.8

But almost everybody I see they get out of bed and they live their life every single day. They

1:16.2

want to be happy. And and when they're not happy, they know it because, well, do you see the other

1:20.3

side of it? They get mad. So I just put my scotch at you. I said, well, listen, if every single day

1:25.2

all of us, that's the number one thing we do is get out of bed to go and be happy. That must be the

1:29.5

reason we're here. So welcome to happiness. It's not that difficult. We'll talk about that today

1:35.0

just a bit more. An equation you can use. It's a natural way of thinking. You will always think

1:39.9

the way I'm going to talk about today. You'll always do it. There's nothing you can do to stop it.

1:44.4

Well, some of you will be a hard case and fight me. But ultimately your brain is wired in a certain

1:48.9

way and it's going to do this. So if you get it, you're going to be happier today, promise

1:53.4

at the end of nine or 10 minutes. My name is Scott Smith. I'm the founder and the chief motivating
